Apparently Torres starts for Chelsea (I'll resist the obvious quip).

3rd time we've played Chelsea since he left, all away. Bet he's waiting til the last home game of the season to score against us to deprive us of a champions league spot :(

Why not? Stoke was a tough test.

I didn't see that game but I'd imagine that with his size that game would have suited him. Chelsea will pose a different type of challenge. Plus we're in the closing stages now so I'd like to see us put out as strong a team as possible, so therefore I rather not play our 4th choice centre-back. But I suppose if we don't play him tonight, when are we going to play him?

    Exactly.

If we're going to view him as a potential future starting CB for the club then we're going to have to see how he performs during different types of challenges.

His inclusion tonight makes complete sense imo

So much for playing the kids. I hope Hendo is in more of a central 'Gerrard' role ahead of Lucas/Speo with Bellamy and Maxi either side. I think he could do really well.

    Superb win.

70 mins of excellence and so Lucas was my MOTM along with Coates. Honestly could decide between the two. Just hope Lucas isn't out for any serious amount of time :( Some very very good performances all round though in fairness. ****e peno, but that aside I thought Carroll's hold up play was much better improved tonight. Special mention for Henderson for all the stick he's been getting(!). Coates, Enrique, Kelly and Bellamy. Brave performance and another couple of assists for him. Oh and Maxi, justifying my belief in him again :P Yeah so basically the entire team :pac:

I think we can safely say Coates is boss. Fantastic performance from him tonight. Looked a little shakey in the first half but bloody brilliant in the second.

And Lucas... well... he was his regular self. Hopefully the injury isn't too serious

Great result tonight and fully deserved. Showed more heart throughout the game and it showed at the end the two goals scored. Lucas again, superb but pretty worried by this injury. Coates put in a great game, very promising and Henderson's game was hugely improved on. Carroll should have put that penalty away but he tried all the way through. Still can do better tho. Let keeps pushing!

Henderson was impressive, showed signs of the player he could be. Coates and Kelly looked good, only worry Lucas and the Carroll miss.

Only the CC but it's a nice distraction in January, on BBC too.

    11 unbeaten, I think that's 5 away wins in a row?

Great win tonight , i really think maxi needs to feature more , the guy is an absolute game changer - always popping up in great scoring positions. Would i be right in saying he probably has scored the most Liverpool goals in 2011?

Great win! Hope Lucas is alright, hopefully just a dead leg.
Pretty sure near the end of the game, I saw Flanno singing along to fields of Anfield road, Legend!

As someone pointed out a while ago it's a start and breeds a winning mentality.

I actually want that Chelsea serial killer guy to come in and start sprouting his 'it's your cup final' bullsh*t ....we seem to be getting a lot of them these days.

I'd start Maxi v Fulham too.

He got a hatrick in that fixture last season.

And to think some people wanted rid of him in the summer...;)

At the moment himself and Bellamy should be starting before Downing every time.

Hope Lucas is okay, but it looked like he jarred hes knee!

    Any word on Lucas?

Last I heard, AVB had to follow him into the Liverpool dressing room to retrieve Torres from his pocket.
Outstanding again tonight. Coates looks to be the real deal aswell.
I wish we could play Chelsea every week.:)

Looked like the left hand side of his left knee where the damage was done , probably tweaked his medial ligament id say

I know people will give out (and rightly so) about Carroll penalty miss and awkward first touch at times but he was excellent in his hold up play, passing and effort tonight especially when ya compare him to the dud up front for Chelsea... AC will come good ;)
