In Ireland and the UK roads should just be left covered with snow when it snows.

No need for the government to spend ****loads on a problem that will solve itself in a day or 3. People can stay at home, walk or drive slowly for the couple of days every decade this happens.

People cribbing over this just blame the government for their own unpreparedness not having a single day of food in reserve or otherwise having their sh_t in order when they knew it was coming

Religious organisations should have to pay rates on their premises like all other businesses.

Ireland can no longer afford the luxury of the Irish language

Religion should be taken out of the schools at all levels.

Electric church bells should be banned

parking anywhere and everywhere because you're late for Mass is not a basic human right

Smoking breaks at work should be deducted from holiday allowances

Monopolies of trade unions in certain places should be outlawed

Chewing gum should only be sold on the basis of being returnable for the next packet, or taxed at 1000%

12 points should mean no driving till the test is passed again.

self inflicted drug or drunk injuries should be fully charged for by all the services involved in the incident.

Not everything that Ryanair does is good.

people that dump their domestic rubbish in litter bins, on the side of the road, in other people's skips. in streams or other inappropriate places should be forced to pay for a bin at their place of residence for (at least) the next 5 years.

Teachers who are teaching very young children that things like stop lights on pedestrian crossings don't apply to them should be instantly dismissed. Young kids that are taught that red lights don't apply to them go on to become cyclists, and then drivers of cars..........

Single mothers should not get child benefit for more than 2 children.

Semi States that have a standard letter that says "that problem is outside of our area of responsibility" should be instantly shut down.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Oh I agree. Of course you're presumably not talking about last winter when it was snowing and followed by hazardous black ice for a hell of a lot more than a day or three - and people weren't prepared because that's atypical winter weather for Ireland and people can't, y'know, predict the future.
Like you said, it happens about once a decade... if even that.

It should be illegal for women to knowingly consume any substances, or inflict any damage to themselves, that could potentially harm their child whist they are pregnant.

    That's unpopular?
Most views here aren't - and most are just guesses rather than being based in reality. :)

Why is the gay thing a problem unless you hate gays? In which case just say it?

i think that the population is being conditioned by the media to accept gay as 100% normal, which i think is wrong. Not in a bible bashing way, but from the pt of view the kids watch alot of these shows and in my view are being lured into a way of thinking the i dont agree with

Meh, some people are just gay - there are plenty of them, denying it doesn't change it. Better to acknowledge the reality rather than pretending it doesn't exist, which was the way before - and that was far more abnormal. So young people will realise there are gay people - what's the problem? The vast majority of people on TV shows aren't gay.
Being gay is natural - I don't get why people would choose a way of life that could result in them dealing with awful abuse and marginalisation, nor can I figure out what outside influences would cause it. There are men and women raised in really traditional homes, yet still turn out gay...

I think his point (before we delved any deeper) was the prevalence of camp obviously Gay characters on soap operas such as Eastenders etc. I'd have to agree there. Theres a continuous stream of Gay orientated storylines in so much that the representation is daily and central to main storylines and therefore doesn't reflect reality for most heterosexual people who watch ( even the ones who have gay friends) but then again nothing on those shows is representative what with murders, depression, affairs and suicide etc on a daily to weekly basis. If I was someone with an agenda to push I'd be wary of always associating it with such depressingly negative horrible storylines. All that negativitiy aint normal . Well I hope not.

I'd understand gay men being irked at the way they're misrepresented with stage camp characters all right.

I don't see where the conditioning comes into it.
There are gay people in real life. Therefore, there are gay characters on TV.

Being gay is a normal fact of life and children will encounter gay people throughout their entire lives. Wouldn't it be worse to pretend on TV that gay people don't exist, which will only confuse them when they inevitably discover the inevitability of homosexuality?

Also, what way of thinking are they being "lured" into? Thinking that gay people shouldn't be demonised and ostracised?

I think what he means is camp people generally dont work/ drink in rough and ready East London/ inner city Manchester boozers.

Anyway, my no 1 unpopular opinion-

The bankers and FF didnt run this country into the ground. Married couples born circa 1945- 1975 using bank loans for buying new cars every year, a 2nd flat to rent to the Polish and a holiday home in Bulgaria all while earning 70k a year, thats who did the job. The banks were thick to lend to them, and FF should have stepped in, but 90% of the blame is with individuals in Ireland. Not Bertie, not Cowen, not Anglo Irish. Even greedy fcukers like Sean Quinn only fcuked over their own staff, not the entire country.

But sure its easier to blame the politicians and the bankers. Im sure in post wa Germany people blamed Hitler for leading them into a war in which their homes were bombed to pieces, rather than blaming themselves for having been part of the problem in the build up to war.

Being Gay is not normal the body was not designed that way not by any stretch of the psychical nature of it's design.Any Gynaecologist could tell you that. The Community of Perverts want to make it "normal" behaviour? There is nothing at all normal about it and treating it so will destroy the reluctant tolerance that there is out there. You people are getting overbearingly arrogant.

I would say 1960-1980. Plenty of 30 year olds, then in their twenties, with the 600K mortgage on 40K a year. 70K was pretty reasonable salary for buying a house.

The human body wasn't designed by anyone.

But you obviously don't like gay people, and that's fine, that's your unpopular opinion. I've no problem with them at all though.

I've never heard of The Community of Perverts though. Are they a new group of supervillains?
