Getting gigs outside of Dublin?

My mates band started earlier this year. Played a couple of the smaller festivals, and gigs in a number of good Dublin venues, all going well. My mates band started earlier this year. Played a couple of the smaller festivals, and gigs in a number of good Dublin venues, all going well. Decent interest online, plays/downloads of tracks, Facebook etc. The band is all originals, slightly dancey, guitars & electronics kind of thing.

They're booking gigs for the next few months now, with no problem in Dublin, and positive initial responses from festivals. The only problem is they're not really sure where to start with playing in the likes of Cork, Waterford, Galway etc. Can't just keep playing in the hometown. Who to contact, what venues etc...

Advice would be welcome.

Fred Zeppelins in Cork is a good venue. It's a rock bar and predominately features hard rock or metal acts but indie/alternative bands have played there frequently too. We had a good time there a few months back, good location too.
