I basically agree with the Occupy movement, but I'm ashamed to admit it because I don't want to be seen to agree with smelly hippies :(

balming FF for our demise is a pile of BS, it was our fault every single one of us.... and any young people who remain in ireland, jobless and without hope have nobody but themselves to blame...
    sorry

plus i reckon 95% of people who listen to phantom 105 just do because its seen as cool to be listening to "cutting edge music"

"Reckon" it all you like. Phantom is about as cutting edge as 98FM by the way.
And you're not sorry - and what about young people just out of college? They to blame? Something tells me you don't blame yourself, despite the "every single one of us" stuff.

Stop Childrens allowance if there is a criminal record and for single women with more than one child. Should save an absolute fortune

Sounds good, but the criminal record thing would be pretty troublesome in terms of there being two parents. If one parent gets a criminal record the other one suffers? What if the parent with the criminal record was separated from the family anyway? Would making a condition that the parent has to be living with the family fix it? Then when one parent in a genuinely tight situation gets even a minor conviction, the other parent may have to choose between their partner or feeding their kids, and many families who don't need the allowance can just say the partner isn't living with them if they get a conviction.

I really think something like what you've suggested is good, but how on earth would we implement it.

I strongly believe in top down leadership living and showing the plebs by example therefore suggest we implement such cuts as those at the bottom of the ladder only right after we cancel the pensions and benefits etc of corrupt politicians and associated cronies who sit on the top.

Thierry Henry didn't knock us out of last years world cup qualifier, we probably would have lost on penalties.

I don't want to start a controversy here, but here's my unpopular opinion:

I think Islam is incompatible with European culture.

(Before anyone nitpicks, yes, I'm generalising here. Obviously there are liberal muslims, two of my friends included. I'm talking about the militant muslims, which are a substantial minority).

Neither is Catholicism, where there's a will...

You're damn right. Before anyone is worthy of your representation they should cover themselves in a can of spray paint colour of your preference. It would sort out the wasters from those genuinely in need

The same can be said of Cadbury and most of the chocolate that can be found on the shelves here in Ireland. However, de gustibus... I simply get mine elsewhere.

I thought about that too however I have encountered some non militant Muslims who hold the view that democracy and Islam are incompatible.

i think this whole Racist Naas Mayor is a complete waste of everybody's time and i think the people FOR and AGAINST the issue should just walk away, because RACISM is an inherent trait in humanity and will never go away as long as there remains a tribal instinct in all walks of life.

plus all of this scandal is just a media frenzy distraction from the budget leaks that appeared in yesterday's news. It infuriates me to see people up in arms defending a few dodgy nigerians (don't be stupid, of course theres dodgy ones to blame here) but at the same people would never stand up and fight for their own rights as an Irish born citizen. It's bizarre.

In other words, blacks are black, whites are white, we are not the same, get over it.

It should be illegal for women to knowingly consume any substances, or inflict any damage to themselves, that could potentially harm their child whist they are pregnant.

just the bit i have highlighted and underlined, the problem with that is it costs money, and a lot of it to emigrate, of which a lot of young people dont have, most dont have it actually...so its not their choice, the generation before us have basically trapped us into a situation that was beyond our control and one where we, as a young person who was a child and a teenager during the last boom, had absolutely nothing to do with.

I think tax should be multi layed, where the older you are and higher income you are on is reflected by you paying higher tax, a 18 year old coming into the current jobs market should not have to pay higher rates of tax to pay back debts that have come from the stupid notions of the 25 year old's and upwards.

That's quite a popular opinion, here's my unpopular one along the same lines: The diets women put themselves on whilst pregnant are ridiculous, the possibility of fish or nuts or something causing harm to your child are tiny and completely insignificant compared to their nutritional benefits, in fact, if it did, it wouldn't even be the food's fault, it would be yours for not sourcing and preparing it properly. I severely doubt doctors are giving blanket food group bans, where do they get it from??
