I watched Moneyball tonight. The guy that plays John Henry is the spit of him!

    It's a cracking movie btw.

One of my all-time favourite books, can't wait for the movie!

if Suarez is found guilty what could the punishment be? I'm assuming some sort of ban but I have no idea what length it would be? Anybody know?

    Probably 6-8 games minimum.

Jesus christ, its just been on SSN that Torres has scored more league goals for Liverpool in 2011 than he has for Chelsea. That is incredible.

I'm glad you said minimum cause I would say 8 would be the starting point .

But if he does get banned we can either plod on grabbing draws here and there , or it could solidify the squad and we could turn a major negative into a massive positive .
That would require the likes of Carroll , Downing & Hendo showing their true values .

Crucifixion at the very least. ;)

Mind you if he were to be found genuinely guilty he would deserve a very harsh punishment. I know some might disagree with that as it would be a massive blow to the team, but certain things I don't want associated with LFC and racism is one of them.

I'm just hoping that it is deemed as a misunderstanding, and that it is really what happened as well.

We have only two true consistent game changers in the team right now, one in attack and one in goals, so we cannot afford to be without either of them.

Take Reina out and we lose the man who pulls off so many important saves each season and who has already pulled off a hell of a lot of them this season.

Take Suarez out and we lose the only man in our squad who looks a threat in every game he plays. There are other players who look a threat every now and then, but nobody else in the squad carries that threat in every game they play for the club.

No need for a sensible post about the incident tbh. :)

As per the bbc website, we have hit the woodwork 10 times, more than any other premiership team this season. No idea how often the others have hit it.

Aside from playing poorly and being lolbad in the transfer market, we are probably running somewhat below par.

For me this a game for Dirkaldinho.

I would prefer to see a line up close to this.

    Reina
    Johnson
    Agger
    Skrtel
    Enrique
    Lucas

    Henderson
    Adam
    Kuyt
    Downing
    Suarez

My only worry with that would be Kuyt's ability (pace) to track Cole so possibly start Downing there and give Cole pace to worry about, i just fear Kuyt's lack of it might see Cole go forward more frequently.

Hendo should play centrally and help out Adam/Lucas.

Use Enrique and Johnson as our width, play a controlled game and hopefully nick it 1-0.

Lucas and Adam have to be rocksolid today when on defensive duties , especially when it comes to Mata .

Also if Henderson starts he is gonna have to be box to box otherwise everything will be coming down on top of the RB.

I also hope VB plays his high line back four cause I could see Suarez having some luck getting in behind with the quality of pass from Adam and Co.

Spearing for Henderson and Bellamy for Downing and that would be my choice

Lets just say, i hope we pick a selection that does not appear to be naive like we set up at Spurs. Id like to think Steve Clark would be a good man to sort things out for this one.

If Henderson hasn't got a look centrally i doubt Chelsea away is the game we'll see it. Kuyt on the right for this for me. By the way, Ashley Cole has lost a decent bit of his pace this season imo.

A 12-month long diet and a change of image - including the loss of his ponytail – are part of Liverpool’s plans to get Andy Carroll firing, the Sunday People report.

The £35m January arrival has had a quiet start to his career at Anfield, netting just four times in 16 Premier League games since joining the club. He’s also fallen out of favour with Fabio Capello at international level.

Despite the 22-year-old’s relative youth, Liverpool are keen to see an upturn in his fortunes and the paper reports that his diet and drinking will be closely monitored in order to ensure the striker is in peak condition.

A source said: “Andy is happy to go along with this long training schedule Liverpool have devised for him. It’s a conditioning programme which will look at his whole lifestyle. While Carroll is obviously a big lad he is not particularly muscular and they are wanting to put this right. They are not looking to give him more bulk, but more strength.”

Kenny Dalglish has publicly backed his striker and said to ignore his hefty transfer fee.

Dalglish said: “Andy’s price-tag is only a problem for other people, not for us.

“He replaced a £50m striker which means we are £15m up on the deal – so he’s not a bad buy. Besides, we don’t look at anyone’s price.”

    Great 3 points.

Skrtel looks a different man beside Agger, hope Carra stays on the bench.

Hate repeating myself but Adam again looked knackered with 15/20 to go.

    Nando who and all that...

Agreed. He's been very good since he came.

I really liked our staring formation .

We looked solid yet all attacking play was in waves rather than a single attacking formation that fizzles out .

We moved forward together but always had no gaps at the back .

Johnson looks like the player we bought .

    Happy out .

Now if only Liverpool could play that kind of formation/approach at home.

Adam set up Johnson's goal with a brilliant ball and was excellent all day

very happy with that performance. Our defence looked very solid today and again Pepe showed why he is priceless. Adam was my moto. Roll on next sunday.

He played well and i'm delighted, all i'm saying is i still don't think he's a man for 90 minutes.

Henderson looked decent when he came on, great bit of skill on the right beating two men

Can't wait to see Lucas stats .

He was absolutely brilliant today .

Apart from been passed out if the game for the last 15mins when Chelsea brought Mata inside I think he was excellent .

Such a unsung hero it's funny . He is a real gem to have in the line up .
