    Ooooh, I'm on a roll!

I really like 'God Save the Queen'.

(The anthem, not the Sex Pistols song, although that's also terrific)

But you can't eat the cake and have the thing still sitting in front of you either, it's not that stupid a cliche, just annoying, and misunderstood.

You can't berate someone for eating one particular animal and then go and go off and devour a big mac. If you love one you should love them all
I think you have this the wrong way around, if you eat one, you should eat them all.

I think Spar coke is delish,
along with vanilla coke and Dr.Pepper.. and Old Jamaican ginger beer.

Seem to be all unpopular drinks.
Ginger Beer is by far the worlds greatest beverage, Jamaican that is, the British stuff is too bland, although it does make a nice alcoholic drink (something like Hollows, not Crabbies, that's just sugar syrup).

Which reminds me of another unpopular opinion of mine, why the hell do people drink over priced coloured sugar syrup on nights out? It's just disgusting.

As a smoker, I think that smoking should be made illegal, it has no positive attributes and many negative ones, it certainly makes no logical sense that I can smoke tobacco but not marijuana. Obviously you wouldn't be forcing current smokers to go cold turkey but why allow the next generation fall into an addictive, dangerous, expensive and pointless habit?

Students need to realise that though they may have a point about rising fees and all that, their complaints simply come across as tasteless in a climate when people are literally struggling to feed themselves week after week. Most students have been indulged and have had everything handed to them for free non-stop since they were born, complaints about fees then comes across as whiney from them in particular. Emigrating at an early age like that isn't such a massive sacrifice either, so ye can pipe down on the whinging about that.

Yeah was very disappointed in Crabbies so where can I find this Hollows? but I also go for the taste more than the heat but those Ginger ale mixers are a depressing substitute.

I would happily see smokes banned and I would be a happier if junk food was not around, well maybe that's a bit extreme but I was trying to get dinner in Dun laoghaire recently and its a struggle to buy something that isn't fried

And why isn't anyone else out raged at how fizzy drinks are the same price as pints? I'm a drinker but I find myself drinking more because its the same price per glass.

The middle and upper classes get screwed financially by tax. The working and underclasses have it easier than ever before.
Well then become working class/underclass if it's so sweet income-wise?

They have it in the porterhouse, with a euro of the price going to movember no less, I have yet to see it in an off-licence though.

Thanksgiving shouldn't be a celebratory holiday. It's based on the notion that one should be kind to their savages before committing genocide against the whole lot of them. What exactly are they commemorating?

In Ireland, I think you might be right in relation to the "underclasses", but I would disagree that the middle and upper classes get screwed.

I'm on 35K and think I'm getting taxed at a generously low rate, relative to the rest of Europe.

I would gladly pay an extra 10% if it meant universal healthcare and some form of help for the families struggling with negative equity at the moment.

Agree with this totally. I'm not on massive wages - I think average for the country, but I'd rather pay more income tax than a property tax or bin charges. Income tax (and VAT) goes up and down depending on the climate, but things like property tax will always be here to stay once it's introduced. FG thought they were earning brownie points when they promised not to put up the income tax but it had the opposite effect on me as I knew they'd need to get their money from us somehow if not by income tax.

Exactly. I'd prefer for them to come out honestly, and say "we are going to increase your income tax, for the following reasons..."

Instead, they say "we won't increase taxes", but 6 months later "we were talking about income taxes". "We are going to introduce property tax and water tax, but technically we didn't break our promises as regards income tax".

Talk about insulting people's intelligence

Actually it was the savages kind to the settlers. the celebration was because not all of the settlers were dead after the first year. So guess we are being thankful we're still alive.

No idea is this is unpopular, but I hate this whole dubstep crap that's everywhere these days.
It sounds awful, and the 'dancing' that goes with it just looks like a bunch of epileptic seizures.
    Do people actually like it???

Jedward represent this country well and i'm glad they're performing for us in the eurovision next year, though I don't care about the eurovision at all (that's probably a more popular opinion though).

Irish people arent really European. British people are on the whole pretty sound now and I'd prefer them to any other nationality.

    Germany worries me.

Very unpopular with friends. "Negative equity isnt a bad thing unless you were planning on selling. In which case you were trying to make a quick buck of the back of somebody else and it went wrong."
