Tripped on a cats eye after 7 miles and hurt my knee. Had to run nearly 20 miles on it and some big hills in there as well. Finished near enough on my own bar 2 guys i picked up 3 miles from the finish. lost the last of my group at 22 miles at the bottom of the last hill. Not really a suitable race for pacers but it was a good experience.

20 miles today into a massive head wind for most of it. Knee still hurting me a little bit but its ok.

Niggle in my knee back during the week and also working every day so i decided to take it easy and not run.
Double long run today and tomorrow so in preperation for the double marathon down in 6milebridge.
Today just over 20 miles at just under 9 min miles. Pace was very very easy but there was an absolutly brutal headwind down by the coast.

3.31 in the Liverpool marathon. Was running with ken who was trying to get under 3,30 for the first time. I knew from 8 miles it wasnt on for him so i drifted ahead. After coming out of the mersey tunnel the garmin was way off because it had lost signal so i turned it off. 2 sunstantial climbs at 13 and 15 ish miles and i just ran what felt comfortable. Got a bit of trouble from my stomach near the end but everything was fine, Maybe could have done low 3.20s if i really pushed it.
Im on a forced 2 week lay off due to a suspected muscle tear so im enjoying getting fatter:D
Also had to drop down to the 30 mile race in 6milebridge because of the injury.

Started a program for a stab at somewhere between 3.05 and 3.10 next march in blackpool.
I havnt done any speed work since this march and was dreading doing anything fast. I like doing my speed work on the treadmill as it keeps the pace constant. I started with 2.5k at 15.5kph and then 2k,1.5k,1k and it nearly killed me last monday.

Tuesday and wednesday i had work.

Thusday i played ball for a couple of hours. Friday 4x 10 mins at 15.5 on the treadmill, already felt much better compared to monday.

Saturday 5 miles easy and sunday 15 miles at 8.25 a mile.

    Monday work and rest.

Tuesday 25 mins at 15.5kph on the treadmill.

Wednesday 90 mins on the crosstrainer at 15 resistance(25 max). Covered over 23km on it and was shattered getting off, id say the heart rate was up near max at the end.

Good stuff frank, will follow with interest. You def have it in you. IIRC you were doing well with the speedwork before barcelona

I have a different way of doing it to most but its worked before. I think what i have over alot of people is im not afraid to bonk during a race so ill give it 100%. blackpool is alot flatter than barca so if i can get in the same shape i have a shot. I already have 3.13 on this course and unlike barca i left a few mins out there.
