rent Allowance should definitely be reduced.It's the landlords dole and is creating a false market for rent.
I can't believe this one is looking for sympathy.
Yeah pay any allowance to landlord as long as the landlord is registered and paying tax. There needs to be a huge reduction in it.

I have heard many stories of rent allowance being abused. Agree it should be curtailed and really only given to those deserving and in real need, however this can be determined.....

I bought it as a pension. I bet she has a pension anyway. A lot of landlords are public servants.
You are not entitled to profit,if you can't make it work then don't depend on the state to subsidise you.

This wan doesn't sound sick enough to be out of work, IMO. Well enough to come and talk on radio.....if she is in an office job surely she could be sitting doing her stuff just as well as nattering on the 'phone...

Dunno about anyone else but I never got paid for a single day's being sick in my whole working life. Most employers in the construction sector don't or didn't pay it.

I got the flu 2 years ago and could not move for 5 days, I was puking/the other end too

and every single part of me ached. I would not have been on the phone to Joe Duffy. Get off the phone and back to work you scammer you don't have the flu!

I had the flu last year, didn't see anybody for a week, including my girlfriend
