    Its relatively simple.

Look what ISO 9001 requires and compare it to your systems. If you dont have it it is a gap. Then suggests remedies to fill the gap.

I have done a couple in my time and they are usually a PITA.

Simple enough really, but the devil in in the detail.

    (1) Get a copy of the relevant standard (ISO 9001)
    (2) Create and excel spreadsheet.

    • Column 1: Requirement Number, Use the numbering in the standard.
    • Column 2: Text from the standard. Break each section up to until each reow is a single requirement.
    • Column 3: Describe how the company meets or does not meet (Gap)the requirement.
    • Column 4: Action Plan to Bridge Gap
    • Column 5: Action Owner

    (3) Create a Report and Action plan.
