"Man charged over eight Donegal crash deaths

A 22-year-old man from County Donegal has been charged with causing the deaths of eight people by dangerous driving in Ireland's worst ever road accident.
Shaun Kelly, 22, of Hill Road in Buncrana, appeared at the town's District Court on Thursday.
66-year-old Hugh Friel and seven men aged between 19 and 23 were killed in the crash near Clonmany in July 2010.
Mr Kelly was released on bail and the case was adjourned until 8 December.
Seven of the victims were travelling in the same car.
They were 21-year-old Mark McLaughlin, from Fahan; Paul Doherty and Ciaran Sweeney who were 19 and from Ballyliffin; Patrick McLaughlin, 21, from Burnfoot; 22-year-old Eamonn McDaid and 21-year-old Damien McLaughlin, both from Buncrana, and James McEleney, 23, from Clonmany.
Mr Kelly was driving a black Volkswagen Passat with seven passengers when it collided with the car driven by Hugh Friel.
Mr Kelly, who was the only survivor of the crash, sustained serious injuries."
