My neighbour use to have an overly friendly labrador which he called Syndrome.

Cheap laughs ensued for the first week when the dog jumped up on you, after that it got to be a cringefest if he was in public.

Probably not to file that under best dog name so.

My mothers boyfriend had a Jack Russell called Jack. What made that great was the family surname was Russell. So if anything came from the vets for the Dog it said "Jack Russell the Jack Russell"

I can't find a reference online but I remember reading that in the 60s the film director Jean-Luc Godard had two dogs called "Come" and "Here" in French, so when he was calling them he'd call "Come, Here!"
