Just ordered UPC 20mb broadband (im praying its half decent) seems ok for 25bucks a month.

I didnt get their 50e modem as I thought I had one, But I dont,

Can anyone please recommend me a decent modem/router for about 50e or less. Its just for my xbox and laptop around the house.

    Thanks

What is the connection Phone line RJ11 or is it cable?

Stick with a brand - Dlink, Netgear or Linksys should do the trick

Thanks for the reply. I honestly dont know what type connection it is.

I suppose I should find out really. Id imagine its cable as I have tv from them already and its going right next to my tv (I hope can anyway).

I ended up ordering TP-Link TD-W8960N - wireless router from amazon due to its good reviews from the site (116 5 stars and not many negative ones) and a few ppl from here said it ok

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0031SUB4S

It should do the job. Ill update when I get it

It was 44 euro odd with free delivery

Ya should be fine once you have basically a telephone connection coming from from your wall - i.e 4Pins

That router/modem is not meant for use with cable - its for use with dsl broadband (i.e. Eircom type). Cancel your order immediately.

This is the type you want:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-Range-Wireless-N-Gigabit-Router/dp/B002P54B80/ref=sr_1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1319763540&sr=1-5

(not necessarily that model by the way)

Thanks alot man. It's already on route but returning it should be grand.

Ya I looked into the one that you linked too but its just a router. I need a modem/router, ill look for one like the one you said. The usb slot could be handy for hooking a hard drive up to

No you need the type I linked to. UPC supply the modem they do not allow third party modems on their network.
