    Hi all.

I just go an iPhone 4S, and I am using it with Tesco Mobile. The phone part is fine, but I am not able to access the Internet (I can see the 3G icon, but websites won't open).

I was using an iPhone 4 before with no problem. I restored the backup to the 4S, and I am using the exact same Internet settings: APN = tescomobile.liffeytelecom.com. I also tried without any APN with the same result (my iPhone 4 was actually working without setting an APN, I guess it could default on the right one).

Has anyone tried Tesco Mobile on a 4S? Any idea of what might be wrong?

    Thanks!

The backup from a 4 to 4S concerns me. I feel you would have been better off setting up iCloud on both devices.

I would reset network settings and see if that sorts it.

The backup was actually the iCloud backup of my old phone restored to the new phone. This is the way Apple wants people to use it I believe.

    Anyway thanks :-)

I didn't want to resets the network settings as I think it is erase my saved Wi-Fi passwords and I have them for a couple of friend's places and coffee shops. But I will give it a try and report back!

OK ... it seems like resetting the network settings didn't do the trick :-s
It is still saying "Could not activate cellular data network".

Will keep looking ... if any other idea let me know :-)

Have you data roaming turned ON?

No luck with data roaming either on or off. This is really strange :-s
I might try to call Tesco mobile and/or Apple tomorrow ... But somehow not expecting much help. I'll try one of my colleagues simcard from another network as well.

OK guys - false alarm I guess. I haven't changed anything in the phone settings and 3G data is working since this morning.

I guess either theer was an issue with Tesco Mobile, or something which takes some time needs to happen when you change phone.

Anyway everything looks good now ...
