Well lads,

I figured seeming as Halloween is close, I wanted to talk about scary songs...

So, what's the scariest, creepiest song you know??

20,000 Hardrcore members by Messiah is fairly unsettling!!

There's just something about that song!!
What's annoying about this video is that someone put in the "20,000 hardcore members" line into it and ruined the effect of the original which is saying that backwards, and adds to the eerieness of it.

Yeah, that's pretty cool. It's a bit like something from a musical, which was unexpected. It wouldn't terrify me but I like its mischievous, dark vibe.

I wasn't really feeling the first one at first listen, cos it sounded like a standard death metal song, but I changed my mind once the vocals came in. Lover the effect on them, very disturbing.

Lover the 2nd one. Great stuff!

Really liked the first one, very eerie. I would be more freaked out by come to daddy. But still liked that one. Different kinda fear than the pure terror of the other one. I wasn't killed on the 2nd one. I thought the intro was great.

Yep!! They hit the spot. First one was good, quite creepy, in a sick demonic serial killer kinda way.

LOVED the 2nd one!!! Very unsettling, and great video too!

It's black metal not death metal, there's a difference

I think the vocals are quite unique compared to standard black metal vocals in that they actually sound like someone being killed or just mentally deranged.

Thanks for this. Yeah, the lyrics are very dark, but I didn't really find it creepy at all. There was a bit near the end with a woman laughing which I found quite haunting.

One distinct difference is the vocals. Black metal generally features more high-pitched vocals while death metal usually features low, gutteral "cookie monster" vocals. Also in black metal there is a big emphasis on atmosphere while in death metal there is a big emphasis on sounding as evil as possible. They do share some similarities such as ultra-fast drumming and low production values.

I think it's sad more so than scary.
