philips volume problem

    i have a philips 42inch lcd tv about 5 yrs old.we have a problem in the last month or so with the volume on the remote controls,
    we use the sky+ remote for everyday use and the volume works on and off(the volume buttons on the tv work fine) we thought it might be the "eye" for the sky box so replaced that with no joy
    ive just put batteries into the original philips remote and worked for a couple of minutes and now same problem.
    any idea's anyone. if anyone from the philips shop have any ideas that would be great thanks

    Hi, whether the issue is with just volume, or all commands from remote?

    just volume so far..other commands are working fine
