I haven't got around to applying for financial aid until now. Is it too late to get student grants this year? I hear they give you the money in 3 payments at different times throughout the year, if I apply now would I be able to get the second 2 payments?

Im fairly certain it is way too late now.
Grants apps are supposed to be done in the summer, the closing date for most is August 31st.
If you have an exceptional situation try DCU student assistance fund.
Pop into the student advice center for help if you like.

Fill in the grant form and send it into your local VEC/county council as appropriate. Many will accept grants forms after the deadline but wont process them until they've cleared the on-time stuff.

If you're entitled to stuff, you will get it backdated to the beginning of the academic years, and if appropriate the college will refund your fees when the council/VEC pay them.

Yeah send it on asap. If you are eligible you will get it eventually and you WILL get the three payments plus your fees back. Good luck
