    FYP. ;)

Will be a tough game for sure, might be a defeat on the cards if we don't step up from our recent performances.

Form does go out the window and so do past fixtures, Liverpool have the Anfield thing goin for them thats why i wouldnt rule them out.

Im going on the teams and United have a far superiour team than Liverpool,it wont be easy for United but id expect a win from them.

I'll go for the usual upped performance from Liverpool against United, returning to turgid form in the next game after winning bragging rights.
    2-1 to Liverpool.

United were better than Liverpool last season, but form went out the window and Liverpool won at Anfield against United...
I'm struggling to see what you're getting at.

HOPING for a win, seeing as its at home and we normally do show up for the big games. I'd be happy with a draw tho, given Man U's form of late.

Twice now he has said that United will win because they are a far superior team. I just want to know if he felt the same way before the game at Anfield last year.

Well, it's hardly an off-the-wall view now is it? I don't know why you're stuck on the point.

He might be right, he might be wrong, but it's a fair enough view to hold at least.

You can only take it game by game and in this upcoming game i feel Uniteds team are stronger than Liverpools and are more than capeable of a win at Anfield, My feelings on those past fixtures are irrelevant, As i said i dont rule out Liverpool but id expect a United win in what will be a difficult game.

I think most football fans felt that way before the game in march. But as he also pointed out twice, form goes out the window in these games, and Liverpool are at home, hence giving them a decent chance.

Any team can beat another in a game of football. Northampton beat Liverpool last season. Does that mean they are a better team? No. Same applies here

"Form goes out the window" is one of those ridiculous statements that people trot out in the run up to games like this.

Last season's game at Anfield just illustrated the unprofessionalism of many of Liverpool's players. They can't be bothered to give 100% against the likes of Wolves or Sunderland but when United come to town they decide to try a leg.

Guess what, the better side tends to actually win games like this more often than not. United are the superior side...of that there can be no doubt. They're favourites to win the game which is significant given it's at Anfield.

And I've had my say on David De Gea but if I was a Liverpool fan I've be tearing my hair out about Andy Carroll. £35 million?! He is pound for pound the worst signing in the history of English football. He's not even a good player. He's like a bad Niall Quinn. It's utterly ridiculous.

I don't think form does go out the windo, Liverpool have won their last three games, United haven't. Liverpool are the form team. I think Liverpool will win comfortably.

Funny that you mention Wolves and Sunderland, because under Kenny last season we beat both Sunderland and Wolves, and we also beat United. Guess Liverpool must alwasy give 100%.

United are the superior side on paper, but Liverpool are very good at home. Is Rooney's head in it after his suspension? What about Vidic after missing his penalty during the week. Many question marks hang over United at the moment. Liverpool have a fit squad and they are raring to go.

I think you are very critical on poor Andy. He proved against Everton his worth, a strong, powerful and pacey performance which he capped with a goal. He's going to improve and become one of the premier league's elite strikers I'm afraid Sean. I would say Carroll is more of Zlatan Ibrahimovic type player than Niall Quinn, being honest about it.

I'm really starting to think that Bamboozling and Sean Bateman are the same person, two alter-egos.

Doubtful. For some reason he refuses to address the points I raise with him. This has happened twice on this thread already. Perhaps he is afraid of being exposed for the bluster merchant that he is.

Our form of late hasn't been great, drew 2 of our last 3 games and our most recent game against Norwich at home we played piss poor also.

Having said that, Young, De Gea, Vidic possibly Welbeck and Rio should be back in our starting XI so im confident we can win this one.

    Hi Bamboozling

35 bar...8th most expensive player in the history of football...if I was a Liverpool fan I'd be tearing out my hair...he just looked decent against Everton, no more than that. This is a guy in the Kaka/Rooney/Villa price range. I'm not exaggerating when I say that he's the most bizarre signing I've ever seen in my life. What's next - Dalglish making a £20 million double swoop for us?

On paper, United are the better side. They've better players and have medals coming out of their ears. Most of the time, the better side wins a football match. I'll be surprised if United don't put last season's abomination of an Anfield performance behind them and win in style.

It's crazy talk for Liverpool fans to think that they're going to win the League again in the short to medium term. They don't have the players and they don't have the resources to buy the players. They don't have the fans coming through the turnstiles to fund the necessary rebuilding and Henry etc aren't wealthy benefactors in the Mansour/Abramovich class.

The future's very grim for Liverpool in my view. They're going the way of Aston Villa. They're becoming irrelevant. Jesus, we're talking about a team that can't even qualify for Europe, nevermind the Champions League!

    Hi Sean,

We'll have Carroll for the next 10 years and if he lives up to his potential it will be money very well spent. He has frightening abilities and can become an elite striker, something I feel will happen at Liverpool. We all know the shenanigans where Liverpool were left high and dry on deadline day, and we got the player who had been the league's best player during the first half of the league. We nursed him back to fitness and now he's back firing on all cylinders.

But are United really the better side. They have the better names, but do they have a better team? I'm torn at the moment. And also Liverpool have beaten United 4 from 6 in the league. Bodes well for Liverpool I feel.

We have new owners not afraid to spend, we're in the process of building a new stadium and we're not burdened with crippling debt levels. Crops are growing well in the Liverpool garden.

Not getting into Europe was a great thing, we'll have only about 45 matches this season and we can push for the Champions league completing another important step of out resurrection after what Hicks, Hodgson and co did. Future is very bright for Liverpool.

It was just a "if Carroll's worth £35 million, then any one of us is worth £10 million" comment.

I'm genuinely shocked at how bad a player Carroll is relative to his transfer fee.

I expect him to be playing for Stoke or Sunderland in 3 years time trying to get on the end of long throws and fouling people.
