Winchester Lever Action

    Hi guys,

    Just wondering if anyone has or knows of anyone with a Winchester Lever Action 1886 rifle who might be thinking of selling. I think it only comes in a 45-70 calibre (restricted I know).

    I saw a nice one recently and I really want to get one!

    Oh and I just went on to the Winchester Website...I quite like the 1894 too!

    Have you tried the dealers in the north ? Also ask on the vcrai site you might get a bite there.

    Not with the .38/357. The .45-70 would be legal for it though.

    Neil mcveigh in crescent sports told me he has sold a lot of .30/30 lever actions to deer shooters , so he can he can get them.

    If it's for use in Ireland I'd advise going for a 30/30. If you want to scope it try a Marlin 336. If you don't I strongly suggest an 1894.

    I'd go .30/30 and have unrestricted rifle and ammo. Very hard to consistantly source restricted ammo.

    You could shoot deer with it too.
    Restricted firearms cab be a PITA and require additional security arrangements.

    I'd go all out and get a brass plated action too.

    Are they still available ? I thought winchester went wallop a few years ago and browning only took over manufacture of certain models.
