Its good for Ireland though :D Just need a France goal now and we're seeded

Good for United too that he got 90mins tonight and Vidic will get a nice rest during the summer;)

Vidic has retired from international football apparently.

Bad note to go out on IMO.

He's what 30 now? Could easily make the next world cup and still be in his relative prime. Sad to see.

Great to see as a Utd fan.

Not confirmed yet but would be good for Utd if true.

    jonawils Jonathan Wilson
Just to be clear - that's not confirmed about Vidic and Stankovic retiring; just a steer from a usually reliable source.

Just going by Jonathan Wilson's Twitter. It's not 100% confirmed, but he's going on a usually reliable source of his. Wilson is a credible source himself for all things Eastern football.

With his injuries issues in recent times, I think the Euros were really his last chance tbh. Good for you lot in the grand scheme of things anyway.

Yeah great from a United fan's point of view.

I just don't like seeing someone turning their back on their country in their prime. Then again there could be other factors that we don't know about and I'm sure he knows what's best for him.

    .
    Jonathan Wilson
Confirmed by @dookielee: Stankovic & Vidic have retired from int ftbl, but will play 1 more game so DS can take Savo Milosevic's record

scholes did it, as did park and browne in recent years. i would think that while not putting pressure on players to do it, fergie has a quiet word with them once then hit the 30 mark.

Would prefer Eriksen myself.. Ajax have to sell him sometime and seeing how Madrid andBarca are loaded in midfield, he'll have to come to an English club..

He'll end up in Italy imo, but not for a couple of years.

More than likely is lies coming from that site.
Probably be quicker to make a list of players they didn't link us with than ones they did.

Yeah just happened to look up at the TV in the bar for the split second they showed it - it was unreal.

    He's still a goon though :p

Ah mate, if I'm honest, I'd prefer Gotze. He really is something special, and I think long term will be the focus of the German national side. I dare say I believe he can be one of the best players in the world if he continues the way he has started his career. Best thing about him is his attitude, so mature when it comes to his career. He has said umpteen times he won't be leaving Dortmund for another season, possibly two and rightly so as there's no need to make the jump from BVB and Germany for the time being.

All things said about Gotze, Kags is fairly awesome though :D Few things in his game need improving on. Really reminds me of Nasri in his younger days for Marseille in general style especially when it comes to movement and dribbling. Only critical thing I could say about him is the fact, at times he tries a bit too much and his final ball lets him down occasionally one too many times. Similarities could be drawn with Gotze when it comes to his national side too, in that team is being built around him.

Aye. Not the first time he's been linked with you guys however. While he'd be a good signing for any club, not sure you's need him though. Sven Bender on the other hand would be a terrific signing, Germany's future DM.

Kags would jump at the chance to move to a really massive in Spain or England, a very goal driven individual. While he does love the club and the fans, he sees BVB as a stepping stone to bigger and better things and has been quite blunt when in interviews when talking about his future.

Talking to a Serbian friend at work. He said that they were dismissing the coach and calling the shots, selecting the team, etc. Hope it is not true and I didn't think Vidic was like that.

That Mexico v Brazil game was last night it seems! That gives Chicharito some chance of being back for the game...

No, there has been zilch information on Young since Friday, we should know for sure on Friday when SAF is asked about it. I would say he'll be fit as it only looked like a slight knock and more of a precautionary substitution than anything.

Dying for this game. Damn Liverpool usually do well against us though. Hopefully Wayne will bang in a few. And De Gea will have a stormer.
