Not looking for any other make, no dboys vfc cyma etc JUST this specific Unicorn AKS-74U. Have bought a few of these over the years and If not looked after they tend to end up in bad shape. I'm looking for one and condition does not matter. So if its rusty broken, damaged or in perfect condition I'm interested. Cheers for looking.

Can you put up some good quality pics of both sides? I'm interested but need a little more info, why does it need new gears? what is the condition of the rest of the gearbox? Any damage? Cheers

This is an AK spetnaz, Probably about as far away from a Unicorn AKS-74U as you can get. Sorry but If I was offered one for free I wouldn't take it.
And your pictures are terrible quality. You can barely make out the AEG.
Most definitely not what i'm looking for.

You know the Unicorn is a notorious piece of junk yeah? Dboys do a full steel model aksu with the proper laminated wooden furniture, and cyma do a similar one I think.
If you want top quality get a vfc.

Stercus do you have a Unicorn AKS-74u for sale??
Thanks for your opinions on AKs 74u's. I started this thread because As per the title I'm looking for second hand Unicorn AKS-74u's. I am well aware of the different makes and manufactuers available.
The only reason the Unicorns have a bad reputation is because most airsofters don't know how to look after their stuff properly, The were made from steel body kits Not cheap painted pot metal like the dboys or cyma models (both of which I have owned) or most AEGs even the so called top quality ones. As for The proper laminated wooden furinature on the dboys it is so soft like balsa wood you can mark it with your finger nail. The Unicorn Came with two actual real solid oak hardwood furniture pieces (that needed to be stained to the right colour) which after 4 years of hard use have barely a mark on them. The Unicorns need proper cleaning and oiling. When first bought out of china They needed to be stripped down and put back together properly. They were put together from a body kit by some muppets in china and sold off cheap. Quality control wasen't the best. When done right by someone who knows what their doing The Unicorn is an outstanding AEG.
I own and have reconditioned Several. It is far from junk!! It has been my main skirmishing AEG for nearly 4 years and has never failed never stripped a gear or fallen apart in my hands. Its accurate (came with a 6.03mm inner barell) and can take a large 9.6v 2000mah battery. They are the most realistic looking of any AKs and that includeds the VFC (which I too owned) because they are made from steel. I'll but mine up against any AK in looks and performance any day. The VFC is way over priced for what it is and as for top quality thats a whole different conversation.
So to get back on topic, Any pics and price on your Unicorn AKS-74u for sale would be great. Cheers

Cheers Don't think there are too many left these days. people bought them never cleaned them, never tightened them up, never oiled them, couple of days of wet airsoft or left in a bag with sweaty gear and the rust done the rest!! Imagine steel rusting!! Everyone wants the Cheap pot metal Painted black or even better plastic for all the use it and abuse it crowd out there.
As long as its under the joule and the price is right for the condition I'll take it off your hands. Cheers

Just chrono'd it today and its shooting 315+/- 3fps with hop off and 0.2gbbs. Still have original box no rust in site. Well maintained, know what you mean about the use it and abuse it crowd, too many paying crazy money for plastic handguards, stocks and pistol grips just because they have a little magpul symbol on them but wont pay 3 euro for a bottle of silicone spray to maintain their AEGs and still using the crappy chinese chargers to charge their barreries!!. Its yours for 120. If your agreeable We'll arange a meet for chrono and testfire.

Are you sure Sleepershark "You know the Unicorn is a notorious piece of junk yeah?" I've never owned one or even seen one but I've read on the internet and if its on the internet it must be true!! I know that you have said in the first post that you have bought a few of these over the years and that you are not looking for dboys Cyma or vfc but incase you just made a typo: " Dboys do a full steel model aksu with the proper laminated wooden furniture, and cyma do a similar one I think.

Sellin them dude, My RIFs don't fall apart. I,ve been using the same 2 or 3 for 10 years. A unicorn AK74su for the past 4 or 5 with only 1 broken spring in that whole time!! I've been buying and selling airsoft for 14 years. Once people see the real steel looks I'm always asked where they can get one. Have a list of people willin to buy one if I come across any more. Do you have one?? As to the falling apart comment Unicorns need to be looked after they are not for your average airsofter. most realistic RIF of the AKs out there very desirable to the Collector Crowd having sold them a few over the years.
So have you on for Sale????
