Brandy has signed up to appear in 90210.

The musician has landed a "major" arc in the show's upcoming fourth season, TV Line reports.

Her character Marissa Jackson-Lewis, who is due to make her debut in October, is said to be a young politician hoping to get elected to congress. She is running against the conservative uncle of Teddy (Trevor Donovan).

In order to increase her chances, Marissa hires Silver (Jessica Stroup) to make a campaign video aimed at young people.

"She's a cross between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama," a source claimed. "She's inspirational but with a drive to get the job done."

Brandy recently had a guest role in Drop Dead Diva. She previously worked on television shows such as Moesha and Thea and appeared in the movie I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

Other stars who will appear in 90210 include Sarah Hagan, Matt Cohen, Justin Deeley, Megalyn Echikunwoke and Kristina Apgar.

The fourth season of 90210, which has been extended by two episodes, will premiere on September 13 on The CW.

The original did the same thing. And another three or four years after they left college. Arguably it had really overstayed its welcome at that stage.

WHEN ONE DOOR CLOSES, ANOTHER ONE OPENS — In the season four premiere, gang from Beverly Hills have graduated from high school. Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) has spent the summer dealing with the shocking news of her pregnancy and quickly discovers she doesn’t have the status at college that she did in high school. Annie (Shenae Grimes) receives some unexpected news that keeps her in town, while Liam (Matt Lanter) returns from his summer away ready to commit to Annie. Dixon (Tristan Wilds) finds himself without a roommate or a place to live, while an unexpected visitor tests Navid (Michael Steger) and Silver’s (Jessica Stroup) relationship after they move in together. Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) comes back to town looking for redemption, which she soon learns will be hard to earn back. Ivy (Gillian Zinser) and Raj (guest star Manish Dayal) struggle to deal with Raj’s health getting worse, while Teddy (Trevor Donovan) struggles with coming out to his family. Yeh. I didn't see the point of that if they weren't going to follow through with it.

Hopefully it will get better as I really liked the last season.

Have to echo your comments Stenchy, very poor....

Too many new plotlines going on, wtf did they do to max?...he was one of the better characters last year, they turn him into a douche and then dump him off the show???? :mad:

In fact i kinda hated everyone in the opener, Teddy was flown off, the pig was good though

This cowboy dude, he'll get tiresome rather quickly, where was the humour?...the drama?, i'll see ep. 2 tonight and pray for better stories....and as you say season 3 was the best

[edit] - seen ep. 2 - another meh effort, liked Naomi and the pig though :-)

Ah....season 3 goodness

, best one of the new season, some excellent zingers from Naomi, in fact...they've introduced a pretty good battle between Naomi and Holly!, they are both in "that bitch is going down" mode and it's making things rather interesting!

There was lots of mutual punking going on, but Holly won!....she dropped Naomi is the turd several times and twas great to see!, i hope they keep this angle up as it's funny + Holly has been doing some rather dodgy stuff to get info on Naomi, like searching Annie's room. Dixon is on drugs and off the rails....Liam has baby drama :eek:

Adrianne is tryna worm her way into everyone's good books :rolleyes: , Navid thought his uncle was shooting porn, but thank god it was just an illegal chop shop

Overall, good stuff....that felt like 90210 i like seeing, good mix of humour and OTT drama
