MrsDub13 got me a De'Longhi Lattissima EN660 a couple of weeks ago.I am very happy with it but with one small problem, the milk IMO is not hot enough.I get around this by heating it up a bit before I put it in.

My question,is this the norm with a this model..?

I don't know that model well enough to comment on the milk but I have found that in general Nespresso machines don't make the coffee hot enough.

Making an espresso, I work around it by preheating the cup with hot water before firing the shot.

This is the norm with that model afaik. The new Latissima plus has addressed it and heats the milk.
If you go to a coffee bar in Italy, they adjust the temprature based around the heat and humdity of the day. Coffee is not meant to be too hot. (i.e. it should be cool enough to drink the whole lot in one go)
