She tried for twenty minutes, both arms, I have really bad veins.
He went for the back of my hand instead, it's just a bit more sore.

When you are fasting the veins are not as good.
I had the back of my hand done too, by some paedatric dr, when they were trying to figure out what was wrong with me (diabetes) and she actually blew the vein in my right hand. my mum got so angry with her and demanded another dr take the blood. I of course was roaring my head off (i wasnt a small child either!) and the other dr was lovely.

I have really bad veins in my left arm, for some reason. They seem to be better on my right hand side. My gp never hurts me when he takes the blood. Hes so nice, and he takes it every 3 months for the routine testing. I would not let that maniac nurse anywhere near me.

I find female nurses/dr's are a lot harsher than the males. Even for anything "female" related, Id be far more comfortable with the a male dr than a female one. Theyre way more gentle. Needles. Examinations.

    night Fago.

Storm don't look. They have hard time finding my veins, too small they say. Ask if they can use a butterfly (the tiny ones they use on infants) Are they actually drawing blood or giving an injection?
You are right though about females having less patience with other females but I've noticed they are very sympathetic to males.

They would be, the filthy tramps.

Up until about 2 years ago, I used to have to get the "magic cream" on my arm/hands that numbed it and you couldnt feel a thing. Haha.

Ill be getting blood taken tomorrow, to test for the iron count again. Ill get results too, so Ill know for sure if im ceoliac or not. I dont think there will be injections as theyre doing that iron transfusion thing thru an IV and I had to be admitted to a day ward whilst doing that, so Im pretty sure that wont be tomorrow.

They must be testing more than iron, you can get that in a finger prick. I'd tell them I was extremely phobic concerning needles and I'd ask for a butterfly.

they test ferritin levels and haemoglobin too, last time they checked for that caoliac disease and i have a slightly underactive thyroid too so they obviously check that.

    meh. ugh. almost time.

lmao, so i fed Ava this morning, and her daddy took her for a cuddle before he went to work, and whatever too-ing and fro-ing that went on, he had baby sick all down his back, whilst wearing his suit, all ready for work.
    so funny. he was raging.
