lower cpu usage

    CPU is after going ftom about 40% usage in rest to 70% usage over the last few weeks , any thought on how i can lower this.
    i dont care for fashion , only to get the job done!

    Well that's... vague.

    What are you doing while the CPU is at this level? What programs have you got running in the background? What are your system specs?

    i know it vague sorry . here the thing .
    background ive got nothing running and i got it reduced by 10%
    still 62%

    except it 2.3 ghz not 2.2
    i want to play red orchestra and the cpu speed hit 100%
    another pc in the house ( formatted the other day) is running at 4 %


    also when i open firefox it hit 92/3 %

    i got the solution i went into task manager and 1 task under all users was some apple thing looking for a ipod , when i disabled it it went from 60% to 2%
    people listing . there your solution!!!

    Bring up Task Manager, click on the "Processes" tab, click on the word "CPU" at the top of the CPU column - what are the processes using the CPU the most?
    Can you post a screenshot. Normally System Idle should be between 85-95%..

    dont know if it will work for everybody , as i think it searching for an iphone or something

    but also end task of other programs like this

    p.s. this will start again when u either reset/ log on again
    so im going to uninstall everything i tunes
