At the ATM today..

I was in line at the ATM today and the woman in front of me was on the phone getting money out of the ATM and I was the only person in the line.

Well the woman left but she did so without her money so I took the money that was just presented and calmly walked to my car and went home. She didn't seem to have noticed that she forgot her €500.

Well I'm wondering is what I did wrong, I mean it's not really stealing now is it, it's more opportunism that anything else. In a way her stupidity deserved to be punished in my opinion, I mean how thick do you have to be to leave money behind in the ATM, I mean that's why you go there is the first place, to get money out!!

Possible bull****? I thought banks only allow 300-400 per go

Hope she wasn't on her way to pay mortgage or bills and now at home wondering what she is going to do.

What you did was wrong because you know the money isn't yours and you know who quite clearly who it belongs to. If it was a case of arriving at the atm thirty five minutes later and seeing the money left there would some more ambiguity involved but there's none here as you know the money isn't yours. Sorry, for not clearing your conscience.

i believe the OP, in one of my more moronic moments I once left the ATM....without getting my money :mad: turns out the machine had sucked it back in before the dirt bird scumbag thiefs got theirs hands on it

if you really did that your a horrible horrible person thats a lot of money to some people and she may not be able to pay her bills or mortgage etc and its allll your fault.

I was in a similar situation once myself, someone left their card in the ATM and walked off, I ended up running two blocks after the woman like a lunatic and I didn't get so much as a thank you when I handed it over.
It's not a matter of wether the person deserves it or not, it's about doing the right thing.

it's morally ambigious, honestly....if it was me i'm not sure what i'd do. In the moment i'd probably scarper....now, if yer wan left her card and no money i'd go after her and hand her the card.

What about my bills? I've got UPC bills to pay, I gotta pay my cleaners, the dog's bi weekly grooming session doesn't pay for itself in fairness.
