    Didnt see your last post.

If they pay out dead heats same as others and dont guarantee early prices you should of only got back €25

    €10 divided by 2 is €5 at 4/1 = €25

Thats what I thought, obviously the girl just made a mistake, but surely she just scans it and computer tells her what to pay out?

    I dunno, I'm happy though!

Hacketts are a bit like Lads used to be. Their computers arent set up for anything out of the ordinary happening and bets have to be adjusted manually.
Urban, you could possibly be getting mixed up between full odds for dead heats and double result (i.e if the result is changed after a Stewards Enquiry) which some bookies pay out on.

OK, so my mate was telling me Boylesports pay you the full whack if it's a dead heat.

Interestingly he also told me that if you have a football bet done and it is winning when the 90mins are up you get paid. So if your bet is beat in injury time you still win. Can anyone verify this?

I can verify the football one. Think its only a short term offer and match must be televised iirc.

william hill shops are the same here in that they only guarantee live prices
    and not morning prices
was shocked to be told that months ago and using them would
    be a last resort now

Yep, singles and multiples, win and draw only bets and premier league only. A buddy had €30 on Man City to win 3-0 against Swansea, thought they'd pay out, nope, only straight actual result bets, ie win or draw.

Re the full whack on dead heats, none of the Boyles I frequent in Cork do, quite rare for a betting office to do so tbh. As mentioned earlier I think some folk are getting dead heat and double result confused.

Could be sandeman but I understand the difference.

Did Celtic used to do dead heat full stake?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,227 ✭✭✭✭thesandeman

Not sure. Think they might have for a while. They did double result all right.

Nope Celtic didn't, I had Villa top scorer in world cup with them, ended up dead heat.

    Banna Boirche 6.40 Killarney.

Was just in the bookies after work, mate told me he heard this was being touted around. Got it at 8/1.

14/1 is available. It was heavily punted first time out this year. I fancied it but ran no race

theres a 2mile 3 steeple chase in saratoga usa tonight, gordon elliot runs dirar barry geraghty on board, and tom foley runs decoy daddy ross geraghty taking the ride. Cant seem to find betting at the moment but surely one of these will win.

William Hill wouldn't give you the steam off their piss, a disgrace to bookmaking imo!

Regarding that dead heat saga a few posts back lads.

I was just in the Hacketts where I placed the bet and seen signs Full price dead heat. Even though I rang and they said they dont go full price.

So they wouldn't guarantee the early price but went full whack on dead heat, so worked out well for me. Quare set up all the same!

What kind of ground would she want?

Looking at her rating good to firm,I think. This a very tricky race if [im not] I was having a bet I think the top has a big chance at the weights and has the rails. I wont be having a bet as I will be in Old Trafford but if there is heavy rain and groung comes heavy, watch Zarza[lhugh knee action].I won a lot of money in Roscommon in a maiden on Bible Belt ,has a hugh turn of foot.Pat Flynns in first at Galway looks thrown in but very poor price.Good luck.

I know it's easy to blame the jockey for any loss but Mark Walshe went for a gap that he shouldn't have-he was leaning on horses and practically jumped the hurdle sideways,it was obvious he shouldn't have gone there.

I have backed this everytime it won,not today. It cannot have been a tip.Was in Lingfield on the coldest day ever to back it 16/1 Martin Harley gave it a shocker and beaten a neck.Couldnt get all the money on in Dundalk at14/1 when Smullen gave it a peach of a ride.Someone also gave Banna Borcha[spelling??] as a tip it was not going to win and I backed the winner.People have the best of intentions giving tips but at least these two were not from the owners/yard.
