Fcuk sake, wasn't bothered about which size so just put the 16GB in my basket cos I figured the 32GB was better value so everyone would go for it. :pac:
i did the same with Expansys.

Just off the phone from Argos Tallaght, I had a reservation number for one but they said they never got any in stock, dont know whether thats true or not, also asked if they had any cases anywhere, they said there are no cases in the entire country.

I think Harvey Normans and PC world are the winners here, They made it clear how many they had, they never took any reservations and they were very fair with their first come first serve basis. Not to mention they were selling them for 16gb:€99 32gb:129, instead of Argos selling at 16gb:€110 32GB:€145

One correction for you, Harvey Norman did take telephone reservations of one of the models in Swords and of both models in Carrigmines. Was one of the first in Carrigmines shops after they dropped the price but all had just been reserversed over the phone. Was happy that argos tried their best to honour reservations up to a point and was lucky to get one because of a reservation made last Saturday. From what I saw yesterday Argos reservation system does seem to tie up stock securely and cancelling reserved touchpad in order to sell it took them a long time, I would say most stock they got in this week went to people with reservations, just my opinion of course, really hope HP have extra stock somewhere in the system.

USB mass storage is all that's required, so yes.

Went to Argos Sligo this afternoon just to be sure. Nothing there, reservation cancelled. Load of bull tbh. Some Dublin shops are getting them in for people to walk in off the street and buy but people over here can't even get one with reservations.

    Huh?
Its just about worth the €25, definitely not work over €30 as it doesn't offer THAT much protection and the stand is a bit fiddly. But I noticed TK Maxx had lots of Ipad 2 cases, like leather ones for €35. Was thinking of getting one, but not sure if they fit the touchpad, so if a TK Maxx is near you, then maybe get one of them. Had cheaper cases for €12 also, they didnt cover the screen though.

Then how does the other lots of people posting about how they got "touchpads today in X argos store!!" benefit everyone? It is a discussion after all. I only just got my touchpad yesterday, but was not one bit bitter towards the other people who got them days ago, when I didnt have one, and were talking about getting them on eleara, dabs, argos etc. in this thread. I was actually happy for them.

I hope it breaks on you fiddling around with your fancy covers.
I hope thats sarcasm or banter...

I rang argos galway yesterday asking for a case. The guy said there was only 3 left in the country - athlone, sligo and somewhere else. He actually ASKED if I wanted him to reserve one for me! So I said 'Yes please!' and got the one in athlone.

I never knew staff in one brach could reserve items for you in another branch. Really friendly guy, and if your're reading this, cheers!

I got mine in the Waterford branch. I was told it was the last case available in the whole country o.O and if I wanted it reserved. Yeah the girl that reserved mine was helpful too. Not sure how they got away with charging €50 quid for them before though, ridiculous price for what it is.

I dont think so, as you can access your 50gb from your PC, so I presume its 50gb for your account, as in once you activate it through your touchpad, then thats it, and not just for the touchpad. Id say you can use it on your android device.

No it's annoyance at having our noses rubbed in it. Why don't you, your touchpad and your lovely cover go away somewhere far far away?

I'm not one bit bitter, this thread is to help people who hasn't got one yet? So the only people who will benefit is the people who will buy the case before they get the touch pad

And tbh if anyone buys any accessories before actually getting a touch pad then there mad.

There is nothing I like better is to hear someone getting a touch pad after being told they won't be getting one due to no stock.

What a lovely charming man you are. I helpled lots of people out in this thread, so I can be happy that I got one eventually.

I agree that the ebay tablets are not going to drop any time soon but the amazon android tablet is set for an october release and is expected to be sold at a loss (C. $250) so that is another option for those of us who miss out here.

Oh yeah, I knew they were releasing a tablet soon, but I forgot that they tend to sell their kindle's at a loss to make it up in book sales. Plus their tablet will no doubt be optimised in some way for book reading, which is one of the main reasons I want a tablet.

Oh, the hate is strong in this one. :) Though I agree, it seems a bit futile and overly-optimistic.

Hardly having your nose rubbed in it by someone talking about the case they bought for their touchpad in the touchpad thread.

Rubbing your face in it would be me saying that I got my touchpad yesterday and haven't even taken it out of the box yet...

Expansys website is changing quicker than the weather.32GB HP Touchpad --> In Stock -- Out of stock -- Normally within 5 days -- all in past 20 minutes.

Also I have an email from Argos just in "Confirming that new stock is coming in and when"

I reckon their next move will be to give the current kindle away for free, probably with 5 or 10 ebooks purchased, one per account or something like that
