    I was just in Argos Galway and still no stock or sign of any more coming.....

    No stock showing either for HP employees (wife) through elara.

    For a discontinued product it surely is popular!!!

    Com'on tablet makers get in, the demand is there.

    Com'on tablet makers get in, the demand is there.
    There is huge demand for €99 high quality tablets.

    Then again, there'd be huge demand for €99 luxury cars as well.


    Selling a high quality tablet for €99 and making a profit is simply impossible.

    Can anybody here speak French? Tempted to email FNAC and ask them what the story is with my item is.....but im sure they are bombarded with enquirys about it. My status hasnt changed from Ordered since the first evening...but still no payment has been taken from my account, which worries me slightly

    Its not necessary to email them, I would have thought the situation is obvious.

    They took rakes more orders than they have stock, and now they are fighting with everyone else to get whatever tablets are left in the supply chain....there'll be a few sitting in warehouses or in trucks but not a significant quantity.

    If they get some they'll fill the orders they took on a FCFS basis.

    .. you'll just get the "awaiting stock" generic e-mail.

    They don't know anymore.. once they do, they'll let you know.

    fnac have set up a dedicated email address for inquiries about the touchpad, twitter quote:

    chances are they probably set it up so that it could just spew out an automated reply!

    thats a google translate job too, the twitter posts are in french so youll have to email them in french, im presuming they have nothing though and are waiting to see if they can get more to fill orders.

    I was the same in that I couldn't see how to reserve as they were out of stock since sunday although I only checked the 16gb.Would say argos shops in North might of had being more fruitful but in saying that I really didn't think they would have dropped the price with all the reservations at full price

    The price won't ever change because they're no longer being made. Once the final units work their way through whatever supply chains they're in that's the end.

    HP are having a firesale. When the stocks gone, it's gone. Judging by how fast these things sell out (Thousands in a minute) i'd say they'll be long finished before January.

    They set up a dedicated email address which is fnacoeur@fnac.com to deal with touchpad queries. Include your phone no. in the email.

    Eh, someone was asking if anyone here knew how to speak French because he wanted to ask FNAC about his order status. I wrote him up a quick email. I'm not the one who needs to translate anything :p

    Google Translate produces an even worse translation English -> French than it does when translating French -> English. Real translations are still much better.
