Half afraid to post this in case someone goes mental at this branch

Ill spare the most of the details to protect my identity ! :-) .. ...but even though my reservation for today had been cancelled they found one in the dark depths of the warehouse , ones that staff were not allowed to buy !

I asked were there any more and I was told no

Some people seem to have walked in off the street and got them (the manager said they were issued on a first come first served), and I'm sure they won't complain about us with reservations. I think Argos need to review their automated system. If you cancel orders, let the customer know...and don't tell them they are in stock ready for collection!

It's not policy of Argos nationwide, I've just been on to my Argos store as I haven't received a text yet. They said as soon as the stock hits the shelf you get a text message and that stock is allocated to your reservation number. They couldn't have been more polite.

Now if you've reserved a few under the same phone number they can see that on their system and might have decided to cancel and to be honest I wouldn't blame them for that.

Was just in ilac Argos, A very helpful woman told me they had none today in their delivery.
But it might be worth checking back tomorrow or the next day. But really, as far as her computer knows, they were sold out across all Argos stores.

She wasnt hinting about tomorrows delivery, but that, for the sake of it, to try again.

If anyone has a spare code I know a boy who wants to use it to train horses, he lost the power of speech and his dream is to train horses and the only device that would be of use is the hptouchpad.

Official argos twitter said no argos stores over UK and ireland will be getting any more stock. That thats it for good for argos.

Now for you guys who might not be interested in the Pre3, you might want to try get your hands on one as a bargaining chip to swap for a Touchpad... That's what I did but I just gots me a Pre3 off of Elara so my spare Touchpad is going to someone else at face value. Just thought you guys might want to think about that!

P.s. Don't spam me, the Touchpad is already promised to someone.

I would, I'm pretty sure it's actually illegal and could be considered breach of contract.

Just talking to a girl in Argos in Carlow over the phone. She said that she heard that there is 10,000 being shipped to Ireland but Argos are not getting any of them.

TheZohan, there is a massive disconnect in Argos stores nationally. So are honouring, some aren't.

As regards the multiples, that doesn't seem to have been a issue with the manager in question. The issue was there were no reservations being honoured at all.

And if they had cancelled them, surely I shouldn't have received three texts today telling me they were ready for collection?

P.S. A lot of people are very angry on here, so please don't misinterprete my tone in this reply as argumentative.

P.P.S. As regards the multiples, I was ordering for friends too...they weren't all for me, and I wasn't intenting to sell them on

Go quietly ape**** in store with"Marty" and see if that solves things.

Yes, see my post on the previous page. He reckons its the direction from the head office.

Others here are saying that it was a store decision.
