I'd love to know this too. Thanks

Got mine from Argos in Cork retail park this morning. They had all reserved units ready behind the counter. I got there at about 9:30 and there had been 3 in to collect before me. The girl on the till wasn't sure how much stock they had in total.

I also got a €10 voucher to use in Sept and another in Oct, so if I use those, the 32Gb version ended up costing me €125.

I love that feeling of opening the packaging of a new gadget. Opening my first iPod box is a memory that will live wiht me forever. (the old cube packaging that had the word 'enjoy' on it')
So I really can not wait for Elara to deliver mine....COME ON ELARA!

Just got a 32GB one from the Waterford argos store. Got a text this morning saying it was in stock to collect from today until the 30th. Delighted!

Reading the past few posts after four days of trying but failing to get a Touchpad gives me horribly uncharacteristic pangs of jealousy...

Has HP said anything about more stock being made available?

when I used it for the converse website I had to use the personal shopper service they have. The way it works is you set up an account and they assign an address to you which is a po box in their warehouse. Then you use the personal shopper service and they pay for what you want with their bank account. I tried everything else with the converse, even if you use paypal it has to be a paypal with an American credit card. You can't use your friends us address with comgateway, they get the product sent to themselves in a warehouse in oregan and then post it on to you. This is all on their website, just read it. And I have used comgateway and it is the best service of its kind and their rates are the best and making an account is free.

I saw that but they say that it takes a couple of days for them to actually order the product from the site after you put the personal shopper order through with them. That would be fine under ordinary circumstances, but the Touchpads will be long gone by then.

Haven't tried this yet, most seem straight forward except for the Preware.
I "Homebrewed" my Pre ages ago with Preware and for the most part, the tweeks and apps are great, sometimes even brilliant. However, sometimes after installing several new apps or tweeks I'd run into a problem if I ever ran out of battery and the thing shutdown. On rebooting, the phone would be locked and even after entering the pin, it wouldn't connect to my provider but just stayed in SOS mode. To right this I had to run the WebOS Doctor that came with the Preware which removes all added tweeks which then had to be added again, going through a trial and error phase til the problem no longer reoccured.

I'm not saying don't do, just be carefull is all. I think the homebrew community is great and will defo be giving their stuff ago on my Touchpad but I am going to wait a couple of weeks first to keep an eye on how it goes.

HP in the US has stated more will be made available, unclear if global or US only.

This just popped into my inbox.....hmmm...not looking good.:(

    Dear Customer,

Due to the high volume of orders yesterday for the Touchpads the system allowed some orders to go through after we had sold out of the items. Fortunately though, we are sourcing stock from our supplier to fulfil the orders that we have.

As soon as we receive the items they will be dispatched to you.
    Apologies for the confusion.

They've been saying that for three days. It sounds as if that most of their remaining stock will be sold to retailers with existing orders such as Dabs/Expansys.

I think I might melt with excitement.

Just got a text from Argos telling me it's in stock and will be kept till Sept 1st.

Is it safe enough to leave it till tomorrow, I have an appointment in that area so can pick it up before lunch tomorrow, it's an hour and halfs drive for me.
They do seem to be holding them for people who get the notification, I'd guess you'll be ok.

This is a paypal aside here! I was in the states a few years ago and opened a bank account, got a VISA debitcard(why we don't have these in this country yet is mystery to me), used it to open a paypal account. Now I'm back home, the card has long since expired but I am still accepted for schemes which are usually US only such as ebay bucks and the like. Strange yet quite handy.

    Hi Jazzy,

Thanks for the reply. I didn’t realize that you also used Comgateway’s billing information too. It does sound like a great service, but at a price, everything is becoming more and more of a rip off. I have family in NY and we all travel back and over a lot, so I frequently buy things in US and have them shipped to NY and myself or someone else brings it back. Unfortunately more and more sites won’t allow the ship address to be different from the billing address or won’t even let you enter non US credit card details. It’s amazing that they play these games and don’t allow us to buy in US, but they pretty much allow 3rd parties like Comgateway to change the rules, all for a price.

If you have a friend up in Dublin, you can give them the reservation number and they could pick it up for you. If you trust them that is...!!

Jervis Argos honoured my reservation this morning. Got a text at about half eight this morning to say that my order was being held.
Staff looked like they had really been through the wringer on this, so huge respect to them.
Big thanks to Upandcumming too - legend.

Still no email from them here, what is your order status? The one beside Qty when you go into the order.

we do, I have a permanent tsb visa debit card, had it over a year now. They are phasing out laser cards for them so the banks can charge higher rates to the shops when you buy stuff

You really needed to check the whole of Ireland for both models. I was just lucky I got the last in my local store. Plus when people fail to collect, they go back into stock, get ready with F5 at the end of trade today!!
