Anyone think there'll be knock on reductions on other tablets seeing as this bargain has absorbed a massive, massive chunk of the tablet market? Although many buying Touchpads wouldn't have bought one at a higher price

That tablet market is a different one, this touchpad market is for people who weren't going to buy a tablet in the first place.

You posted this exact comment already. Ill say it again, there is no stock anywhere in any argos stores in the country now. Its all gone. Who cares about an ipad 3, were not here to discuss overpriced, overrated shíte.

You were doing so well until you called an unannounced product overpriced and overrated, now you just look angry and bitter and a little bit silly.

Really glad I order one from every possible supplier as nobody knows who is gong to make good or not. Its madness!
You could still end up with none at the rate its going.

Has anyone who "successfully" ordered from dabs.ie yesterday got their order status out of security check? Mine's been sitting there for about 24 hours with no change.

Mine's still "processing", which is the next step on from security check.

Most confident about the Elara order. I think at least that will come through.

+1. Have emailed our Dabs account manager to find out the story with the orders are.

Dont count on it. All the stock is gone now, and I was told its not coming back in. Any new stock argos get, IF they get any at all, will be sold in UK only I was told. Not Ireland.

If it comes out that that's what happened I will NEVER spend a cent in Argos again and make sure as many possible Boards members know about it to do the same.Hope someone from Argos HQ Ireland will be reading this thread.

I see my FNAC order status has gone from 'Order in Preparation', back to 'Ordered.' Could be bad news.

I reserved one in Argos on Saturday, for collection this friday-mon, so assumptions are none of these will materialise in stores?

Spoke to Amazon, a query had been sent to production team or some thing similar (hard to hear him). If any details will be available about when the touchpads will be in stock they will get in touch. 2or3 working days usually for answer.

    SD Card slot?

TBH HP TPs (!) are probably on ebay now for a little less.

How am I angry and bitter? I have an amazon order for one pending, and relatives in san diego picked me up one to bring over when they visit in a fortnight. So im guaranteed one at least. Cmon, we know the ipad3 will be abut €600. Thats an incredible over pricing. You could get a good laptop for half that price.

First it would be in breach of contract, assuming that when you pre-ordered your contract terms stated the same as the rest of us.

Second even if they did try and charge you the full amount without confirming if you wished to proceed, you can return it for a full refund (less shipping) under the EU distance selling regulations.

    Either way I wouldn't worry.

To be honest I suspect some people are spreading false rumours to try and scare people out of pre-orders and give themselves a better shot.

Totally agree with what you say mate!

Seeing as HP are loosing EUR206 per tablet, a knock-on commensurate reduction in other tablets is wishful thinking.

As for all the post on "they cant do that, etc..." well its a different story when they actually do! Whatever rights you may have.

If you apply that logic then you shouldn't use a credit card at all.

Every time you give your credit card number to an online store they could charge you too much, double-charge you etc. 'They can't do that, but its a different story when they actually do!'

If they are in breach of the terms of contract then it is credit card fraud and you are covered.

Of course but not without spending time and hassle.... that all i meant. Covered but requires a lot of time and effort. Expansys.ie is gone to my black book after this.

I called one argos store and they said the price was a mistake and there was none in stock nationwide. Called a different store and the argos store worker said all the stock was recalled this morning and that argos were only selling them in the UK now, not Ireland.

Its must be a prerequisite for argos staff to have an A in creative writing.

    Are you the resident downer?

Every post that comes from you seems aimed at putting all of us off trying to buy this thing!.
I'm too busy to get into an argument with you so won't be.
Just had to make the observation.

Mine is at order preparation on the main page but than when I click on Voir le Detail (More details) where it used to say order preparation it now says Ordered.
Very confusing! Hopefully they will clarify soon!

He's actually doing the complete opposite as he is encouraging people not to cancel their orders as Expansys can't charge you the higher price without you agreeing

Mine too. I will be shocked to the core if FNAC manage to fulfil all the orders from their new found Irish customer base! We will live in hope though!
