Argos website seems to be changing slowly. When you search for the HP tablet you now get
    16Gb €110
    32Gb €145

when you click the link the old prices still show up (€439 and €539 respectively).

Are we getting the prices drop today and at these lower prices?? See what happens in the next few hours but it seems to be moving that way.

Price drop has now been applied,if you got a text to say it is in stock collect at opening time I would assume.

I presume you have till closing on the last day of you reservation to pick it up ? Once I have a reservation number I can assume that it will be there ? I have a 400 mile round trip so I won't be there 9am

I should think so as that is how a reservation usually works, you can also call to extend it.

It clearly states "Cannot be reserved for store pick-up" on the Argos site. I would suggest that if you want one, get there early.

you should be ok,check back here after 9am as we will all have to wait until the stores open to be 100% certain of what is going on.

Jaysus don't mention that there might be stock around. Makes me want to chance an early instore visit which I'm 100% sure will be unfruitful.

I was speaking as someone who doesn't have a reservation. Checking in store, a total waste of time?

Probably, you see id say they knew their stock when people reserved over the weekend, worth a try, why dont you ring your local store?

The argos site says that the touchpad "Cannot be reserved for store pick-up" so does that mean people who reserved it will be out of luck when trying to claim it? Anybody going to chance dropping into stores at 9 to see if they have stock?

Decent choice for people who bought on bestbuy before price slash.
Customers who purchased the 16GB or 32GB TouchPad after June 19 may come into the store to get either a full refund or a refund of the difference between the price they paid and the clearance price.

Any joy/hope in the offing with Argos for those of us who have not managed to reserve one yet?

Or is that thie situation for perople trying to reserve now. Surely if they have issued reservation numbers before this then they have to be honoured. 9am will tell all I suspect.

Not sure what the story is, but just noticed this added to the Argos page...

"PLEASE NOTE: Only 1 tablet per order"

Its just below the general features serction

Ah shoite, does anyone know in the past what argos did? If you reserve something surely it means one is reserved for you?

In fairness, plenty here trying to screw Argos, I can't see them honouring reservations, doesn't make sense from a business perspective, and that's if they even have stock !

I don't see how, they have a reservation system, people used it. It's tied into their expected stock levels, I think it's reasonable to expect them to honour it as far as possible, not just cancel all reservations.

I emailed customer care at 6am so waiting on a reply that isnt a cool story bro

Look at all the pr generated for dabs and elara yesterday in addition to over 1000 users signing up to elara alone, that's potentially a lot of new customers in the future if they can get people back to the site with offers etc.....

Argos will want to take benefit of something similar, create a frenzy and get people in their shops.

I was lucky enough to get a touchpad on Mon so I'm just trying to look at it from a different angle, there's a lot of desperate folks on here and also a lot who believe they have a god given right to one since they have a golden reservation.

I think this may be the problem. Look at elara, they had access to 1300 units of both but only got allocated a fraction of that. I think Argos could be the same unless of course they had them stored centrally already. I know Jervis have/had at least one in stock as I reserved it on Sunday morning but that expired on Monday so someone may get lucky this morning if they are in first and it hasn't been taken by staff.

Well, I assume everyone who reserved a touchpad when it was advertised >€500 and none of them have any intention of purchasing at that price, so no one reserved in good faith.

I am 5 mins away from an Extra store and I dont think I will bother. The more I think about it, we are paying 100 quid for what is essentially a web browser. There will be no new apps for it, and I have read that Android 2.x may work on it, but not Honeycomb. I wonder how many will be bricked trying to convert it.

I also wonder if the current apps that work on it will cease to work over time as the providers stop providing support for the OS (thinking any app that needs to go on line to get data).
