    In the future, apparently argos is getting them from their warehouses and distributing them accordingly. I imagine all of the warehouse units have been reserved.

    Jive, if you read chris1970 post that I qouted he is talking about amazon not giving him the discounted price when he rang them this morning even though he ordered one at full price at 11.20pm before the price drop.

    I was pointing out that we could all have done that and I would be pretty peed off with amazon if they obliged him. I too have spent alot of money with amazon but I wouldn't expect that.

    I've amended the thread title now to indicate anyone attempting to buy or sell a reservation for a HP Touchpad at Argos on thread will receive a ban..

    .. and I think it's justifiable!

    Because people aren't willing to pay full price. They may ship them, but they'll just be returned and have to be resold at the lower price. They may as well sell them at the discounted price.

    It may also be the case that retailers aren't in full control of the prices they can charge; that they have entered into agreements with HP regarding the retail price/margins

    I saw their UK twitter account saying they sold out and the stock disappeared from the .ie site, it seems to be back now (but at full price).

    1st Post! Had fierce craic with this hunt over the last 2 days. Learned what the F5 button does and still got some work done in between! Have a FNAC Commande en préparation and if that doesn't work out it'll be ebay in a week or two.

    There's business/marketing/psychology theses to be written from these 2822 (and counting) comments.

    Anybody ordering full price in the hope of future rebates needs their heads examined. Amazon are an excellent retailer with outstanding customer service in my experience.     In the UK they've already reduced the prices on their text in price check system.

    I'd imagine it will follow suit here soon enough.


    If anyone has a spare reservation code knocking about, I'd be grateful for it. If it helps, I work with Android development and am getting it mainly to port to Android and assist with the Touchdroid project.
