Basically, they created a tonne of hype and publicity, failed to deliver and now hope to get a few people desperate enough to get a Touchpad at any price.

Status "ordered" means that the delivery of the order is not guaranteed

What's puzzling me is that I didn't get that, I just got that the order is being prepared. Clicking on that in the fnac site says that it's being prepared and I'll receive an email when the item is shipped. Am I better or worse off than the people who were told it would take 4-12 days.

Has there been any success with amazon.co.uk orders? This thread has almost doubled since I left and if I missed out on some vital info. like: "Amazon never had any when they dropped their prices", I'd appreciate it if someone could let me know. I think for most people on boards last nite who ordered it said subject to availability 4-12 days or something like that beside it when they ordered it. i know it did for me anyway.

Think you are right.Ebay will be the only option when this chaos go away and they go for sensible prices.

I still have the £89.00 on Amzon but looks like that could go the same route.
Also have an Argos reservation.

What's that based on? afaik, the decision to discontinue is new, so there should still be a lot of stock in the supply chain.
