    Yep same thing

And has your card been charged????

Another mail from expansys, i asked if they would be only putting a hold on my card and not taking the money out of my account until shipped

That’s correct. If new price is confirmed, we will contact all backorders and let them know the new price and asked them to RE-confirm the orders before shipping them out.

Should also say if its not dropped by this evening i will be cancelling it just in case.

Hard luck, guys; I bought up all the 250,000 touchpads HP had left. I'm trying to build a life size replica of this. Better luck next time.

"At EXPANSYS we do not charge your card until your order is ready to ship. New customers may be asked to provide proof of identification. "

The Touchpad doesn't have 3g compatibility!

I don't think he wants the Touchpad for the labour ward. :D

For my iPhone so I can try and buy one!

Sent them another mail asking them to confirm that which stance are they taking, contact before shipping in all cases or only if the price changes. If its the latter I will be cancelling.

    A slightly off topic point,
Has anyone heard anything of HP selling off their PCs?

If they are no longer taking pre-orders, does that mean that anyone that did pre-order is more than likely going to be offered a Touchpad? Or did they just take a mass of pre-orders and will be offering them on a first come first served basis.

First come first served. From the carry-on it seems that none of these companies have a clue how many they can get their hands on. Not even Amazon it seems.

They just throw open the order gates for a few hours and then hope for the best. Shambles tbh.

Well don't order now obviously. But anyone who ordered before (when it said they would contact before charging you) should be fine. They wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they breached their contract, lots of us have proof of the terms.

Doesn't the previously posted order screenshot suggest they will contact you before they ship and charge?

Thats gone now, they removed the "Contact" paragraph, very dangerous to spend over the odds on a device thats in firesale mode. Not worth the risk, i already have a stoooooopid mortgage:D

Im exact same as you so i'm pretty worried.

If yer gonna get worried about this sort of stuff then dont do it.

As far as i know, from browsing the forums around europe, theres gonna be no stock until the first week of september.

Theres only the stock that the shops have themselves in stock at the moment. They needed Hp to confirm the price reduction. When they got the confirmation then they released it to the F5ers.
Now that thats gone they must wait til they can get as much stock in as they can. Right now, id imagine that they cant secure exact numbers. That where most of us are, in the waiting group.

New stock ( pre orders) wont be in for another 2 weeks.

Can they hold our payment in "limbo" for 2 weeks though? I thought they had only a limited time to complete the transaction or cancel it.
