I took my Lag Jet to a music shop to have its bridge humbucker replaced with a humbucker sized p90, but there's a problem with it. it doesn't work at all unless I touch it, and when I do it buzzes like crazy. I've heard that buzz from touching the pickup is caused by a poor ground connection but does that explain the fact that it doesn't work at all unless it's touched?

Did you check the guitar to make sure it was working before you left the music shop?

I'd bring it back in so they can try again, that shouldn't be happening and they shouldn't have let you take it away not working properly.

No, I dealt with them before many times and they seemed trustworthy. Rest assured I won't be making that mistake again

I get the guitar guy, Andy, to do my guitar work.. He's in Inim Music In Carlow, across from Dinn Rí... But you definitely need to bring that back to the same music shop and get them to fix it for free (since you have already paid them for it)

yep, bring it back to them, most people won't mind re-doing it and they should actually be apologetic if anything for wasting your time!

If it doesn't work without you touching it then probably one of the conductor wires isn't connected properly. Defo go back to the same shop to get your money's worth.
