if i reserve one on argos, will I have to pay the price quoted or will they drop the prices? The website prices havent changed but i can reserve it online..help PLEASE :)

What amazon are doing is probably pre-selling, thats why they won't confirm a delivery date yet... As per Elara's post earlier, numbers to be sold to each re-seller won't be confirmed untill mid-morning tomorrow... No-one is going to commit exact numbers and deliveris till then..

By pre-selling amazon know exactly what their demand is, and have a ready stream of cards to charge...

Nobody knows, but probably. Which branch can you reserve it at - AFAIK it's all reserved everywhere since about midday...

You pay what the price is on the day.

I now have 5 on the way.

Friend got me one in town today.
Have 2 reserved on argos, in diff branches.
Ordered 1 on amazon just now, says it will go in stock soon.
Picked up one from dabs.ie, they only came up for a sec.
Why do you need 5?

Lads, where ever you see stock just go ahead and order it. Even if you end up ordering from 10 different websites. Cos I wouldn't believe it to be actually purchased until you get shipping confirmation. At least once you get that, you can cancel your other orders.

Or if by some freak of nature you end up with 10, throw them on Adverts.ie, sell them at cost and help a few Boardsies out who never got one.

Right, time to sleep.. Had a weeks hols from work and back in tomorrow, typical, seeing as I could have stayed up all night any other night the last week. One or both of my orders better go through.. or the French and English will pay.. or i'll prob just be p1ssed off for a day or 2 and do nothing..
Night All.. Hope everyone gets sorted.:)

Quite likely. But if any one retailer is to be treated with preference by HP, I'd put my money on Amazon.

argos's policy is that you pay the price on the day you go into the store... so if there's a price drop you pay the new price...

fingers crossed there will be a price drop now today is all :D and that they don't cancel reservations or something snakey like that

I have a bad feeling about these amazon orders. There's no way that they could fulfill ALL orders at 89 quid, the price is still live on the site. Expect lots of cancellation emails...hope I wrong!

Cause I want to win.

Its all about winning.

No guarantee that argos will match any price, why would they sell cheaper if heaps of people have reserved them at the higher price? TBH with the demand worldwide i wouldnt hold out any hopes stock becoming available after tomorrow...

it would leave a lot of people with a sour taste in their mouth from Amazon. It could damage their reputation which could end up costing them a lot of money

amazon said Temporarily Out of Stock

and for them that means, according to their website

Temporarily Out of Stock: this item is currently not in stock but it is available for ordering. If you place an order, we will send you an e-mail with the expected delivery date as soon as we have that information from our suppliers. It is also possible that you could order the item (new or used) from an Amazon Merchant or Marketplace seller. Look for the "More Buying Choices" link on the product detail page.

so maybe ye will all be lucky

so I read an article there saying that anybody who's bought one at full price since like june 9th gets the difference in money refunded, does that mean that if I buy one now at full price i'd get the money back? haha

You're right actually. I was just about to say that the Pre 3 is up for pre order too, but that has been like that for months.

Now seems to be gone as an option on Amazon.co.uk - been refreshing just to see what'd happen...

Looks like they sold out for now at least.

I ordered when it was "temporarily OOS" and the first message I got was (in the email):
Delivery estimate: We'll notify you via e-mail when we have an estimated delivery date for this item. It will ship separately. You can cancel at any time.
Now it has changed to (in the order status):
Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date. You can cancel at any time.

Fingers crossed it means they are processing orders or will in the morning.
