Got Digital Media. Just absolutely terrified of it :o

Aw don't worry, it'll be okay! If you end up not liking it you can always apply for a different course next year. And if you're having trouble with modules or stuff, i'm sure someone on here will be able to help you out :)

If anyone ends up not liking their course, remember these dates:
If you deregister by October 31st you won't have to pay any tuition fees if you begin another course. If you deregister by January 31st, you will have to pay half the tuition fees in the first year of a different course.
After this date, full tuition fees will have to be paid in first year of a new course.
**This will obviously apply if the fees situation stays the same as it is now, which hopefully it will**

    Also, welcome to Maynooth newbies!

Music and Mathematical Physics here.

I'm thinking Psychology, Philosophy or Astrophysics for subject number 3, can anyone comment on them?

Philosophy ftw! Unless you're the type of person who dismisses any unusual question as "a load of bollocks", ye could very well enjoy it! Would definitely provide a bit of variety along with your other choices also. Then again, that may not be what you want. PM me if you have any questions about the subject... and congratulations! :D

Half of Dundalk also seems to go to Maynooth, as well as a good portion of Donegal.

What are you on about?? I'm from Dundalk and I only know a handful of people who went! To all the new firsties, nearly everyone knows nobody when arriving, so just get in there ;)

I'm definitely doing English with music, but my third, I'm not sure about yet! It'll more than likely be a choice between Physics with Astronomy, philosophy or a language! Excited? =D

Probably a ground floor, if you look here http://www.nuim.ie/location/maps/NUIM-Map-booklet-v3.pdf

you'll see Hurley (H) down at the residences, looks like you're one of the closest to lecture theatres:P Prepare to wake up at twenty to ten to five past nine for your nine o'clock lectures:P

Sound! Pretty excited! Do you think ground floor would be a good, bad or indifferent thing? :P

Depends when you are in the building, that walkway beside the apartment can be quite busy, so if your room faces onto it you might get some rude awakenings at 3am/9am:P If you're not facing onto it you'll probably hear noone at all! People also tend to start in at ya so put on some clothes before you get your cereal in the morning. Or not, depending on your preferences.

nice apartments, all those blocks in river are pretty much the same, you have your room with an en-suite type thing in the corner, a desk, internet access, you share the kitchen / living space with your housemates and if you have mates staying over the best thing to do is make a floor mattress out of the couch cushions

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 298 ✭✭BuroniKiisu

So did you all receive a small leaflet from the Maynooth Students' Union in your acceptance pack? Just checking they were sent out!

Didn't get my pack yet. :o

If anyone'd like to clarify how they go their accommodation offer? When I applied a few months ago, it said offer accepted, but I never got any emails or anything so I'm worried I messed it all up badly. :(
