It's odd how they didn't reduce the Pre 2/Pre 3 prices.

I'd be careful using the word troll my friend, all I am doing is pointing out this insane desire for something just because its cheap.
100 euro is still a lot of money in my book to throw at something and find it useless or not suited to what you wanted it to do after a month or so.
No harm in that is there?

The thing is that the hardware on the product is fairly good. For €100 9.7" tablet with dual core there are a lot of things that you could do with it. Personally, I'm going to use it as a desktop media player, plugged into better speakers. I can watch a movie/whatever or listen to music and have my laptop screen free for working on.

I could also mod it to use the tablet as a peripheral device for my laptop, like a drawing pad or something. I'll find uses for it, getting one is the important bit right now.

Not really, unless you really need Flash Support. But in fairness, most of the good Flash based sites have Apps for the iPad now or now support HTML5.

I'm going to try and be there early. They open at like 9 or 10. I'll probably be at one by 8 or so.
Bit worried that there may only be 4 or 5 per store. May even go out earlier if I can get a lift rather than waiting on a bus.

have an iphone 4, take the ipad with me on business trips and its a god send. Touchpad could be handy for herself on skype though.

 €79 for the Pre 3 is a brilliant price, it's a great spec phone.

Edit: Checked the HP German Website, still listed as €349 but the Touchpad is still listed at full price.

And judging by the vids of it, looks like the ipad is the better build quality.

Suppose main reason is to try android (always on iOS), anyone have experience of honeycomb on a tablet compared to iOS?

Can anyone confirm if the Anazon Kindle app is working?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 865 ✭✭✭generalmiaow

Still holding out for an online retailer myself. At least we have the luck that we have some retailers are acknowledging the price drop - according to a lot of what I've been reading that's not happening in the UK.
