    Hi all, what I was wondering is does the law degree enable you to go on and become a solicitor or lawyer if you do an extra year elsewhere? Or does this degree just enable you to work as a receptionist for a solicitor?

    The Law degree is approved by the law society and Kings inn. You will need to do a year or more elsewhere to become a fully qualified solicitor. This is a quote from the prospectus. Im doing a different course so maybe other will be able to advise you on what its like etc.
    Career opportunities
    With this degree you will be well positioned to enjoy middle-to highranking roles in the legal departments of business organisations, law firms and Government and in the areas listed under the Bachelor of Arts in Law. Such positions have great prospects and salary scales. This course also enables you to do the entrance examinations and further study to become a solicitor or barrister.
    The B.A. (Hons.) in law is recognized by the Honourable Society of King’s Inns as an approved law degree. It also has qualifying law degree status with the Northern Ireland Institute of Professional Legal Studies.Graduates are eligible for direct entry to the King’s Inns Barrister–at–law entrance examination. In addition, we have obtained exemptions from the Taxation Institute so that graduates can also proceed to become taxation advisor
