Baths during pregnancy

I know I read before that baths during pregnancy aren't good for you, but I can't remember why. I did a bit of googling and it just says baths are okay, but not to have them too hot, but it doesn't say why not too hot. With spina bifida it's not the actual bath but the rise in your core temperature if it was too hot that could cause problems. Same thing if you'd a fever etc.
