The solution to Quake publicity problems.

Here's the plan. First off we need a volunteer, say Dev or Cloud and I'll write a book about their life adding in spicy stories about miracles involving 50 PC's and only 45 power cords or raising a P133 from the dead.
I'll invent him followers and say he was followed everywhere by 4 loyal men but one eventually betrayed him one fateful night when with a kiss on the cheek he started a homophobic brawl.
I'll say he was crucified in an Arena by other Clansmen but with the click of a button he rose again, 3 seconds later.
I'll invent a few quotes to remember him by -
e.g. "Forgive them Dev if they donate £5 to the next LAN party for surely then they will know not what they do!"
In the end I can say he ascended with a Cloud and was seen again many times always being remembered for his motto "blessed are the Lightning Gunners".
Give it about 1000 years and we'll have a stand alone religion with finances no longer being a problem at all.
