i say good riddance to wirecard... got it for a look a few years ago, used it once, and have abour EUR 2 left on it

I have a real credit card. and found mywirecard in the drawer.
i emailled them and in broken english they said i had to write them a letter to cancel, and i aparently owe them money as the fee put me in the red.

ive cut up the card and never want to hear from them

I have to see I think their customer service was very good, my friend emailed them as ryanair wasn't taking his virtual card, they got back to him within the hour.

I have a debit card which I use for everything apart from ryanair flights as wirecard saves me €12 on every return flight :-)

But it is a lousey the way the automatically renew the real cards, and it builds up debt! so perhaps people should stay away from them!

They used to have a support person on second life. I got banned because I kept pushing their rep into the sea! :D

Received a reply from Wirecard customer care:

"We would like to confirm that your virtual MasterCard has expired and thus has
been reissued, free of charge. You can see the card details as usual in your
Wirecard account under „MY CARD“. The funds in your account are immediately
available to spend with your new Virtual MasterCard."

Must start using my card again i think:D

It looks like if you have insufficient funds, in my case zero, in your account near expiry time then your card doesn't get re-issued. Mine is due to expire in July and when I log in to my acc I get this message.

"Your card is about to expire. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship you a new card because of insufficient funds. Please deposit the required amount to receive your new card"

No worries as I'm going to cancel it anyways.

I'll also give a vote of support for Wirecard virtual Mastercard. Anytime I've phoned them, they're usually able to action it immediately.

Emails seems to take a bit longer - like a few days - so I prefer to phone, but they do respond to emails eventually.
It works fine as a prepaid Mastercard with Ryanair anytime I've used it.

I think they wanted me to write a paper latter to cancel my card?

whatever the scenario I just cut it up, I hope I am not accumulating like EUR 20 in the red for the rest of my life each year!

I posted a cancellation letter to them a month ago and am still waiting for a reply to confirm my account has been closed.

    Can anyone help me.
I've just been texted by this crowd asking 70eu or else they will start legal proceedings.
They apparently are charging me for a card on a yearly basis that I don't have :(

Can't deal with this right now :(

Getting the following error when I go to the login page:

    wireerror.jpg

That is not something I want to see when it comes to online banking. Is there any excuse for not keeping on top of this stuff?

problem at your end? the cert is valid in 7/11/2012 when i check.
would you have installed an old cert manually?

The login url you are using is out of date. Here's the correct one for Mastercard and in English:

    https://secure.wirecardbank.com/mywirecard/Home.html?languageCode=en

PC time & date are correct. I don't know how to install old security certificates manually - so unless it's something that's easy to stumble into I can't see that being the cause.

Cheers, Paul Savory Ax, that link works for me. This is the second time a wirecard login url has stopped working for me. It happened a year ago, too.

The card wasn't working on ryanair for a while... It worked for me a couple of weeks ago, it had failed previous to that, but saved me €24 booking flights for two last week, it has been frustrating in the past when it doesn't work, after topping it up though!

When the new ryanair card comes in it won't be any use for flights originating in Ireland, but you can booked your return flight with it (as long as your not coming back from Italy, UK or Norway). Could be cheaper just to pay the €6 on your out going flight and use this card for ur return, to avoid the €175 min top up, €3 top up fee, €3 fee for it being inactive etc.
