I haven't seen any auctions of it either but there's a reason for that because it's geniunely rare not like Radiant Silvergun or FFVII. I heard it can go for 300 dollars upward but there's been none on sale for ages. Also I don't think it came out in a clam shell.

I just read somewhere that there was only between 500 and 1000 English copies of that game made. FFS, there's always one, isn't there?!

Ah well, I shall add it to my ebay watch list and see if anything pops up.

Faselei! seems to go for about 60-70 buy it now but as you saw it went for 30 including shipping recently. I was bidding on one a while ago, was from some one with 2 feedback so decided to take and chance and put in a reserve bid. Ended up going for 55 sterling! But the week before I narrowly missed out on one that went for 25 clamshell and all. Anyway Faselei! was one I really had to have, I quite like Sacnoths games, not always great but always interesting. Have heard Faselei! is great though especially for Front Mission fans... like me!

I did see them indeed. In fact I heard nothing of the game until you mentioned it, saw those auctions and thought 'hmm, doesn't seem to be that rare afterall', so didn't bid! I guess I'll be kicking myself now when the NGP arrives and I can't find it for less than €50.

Speaking of which, have you considered modding your NGP with a frontlight? You can use one from a GBA SP. Means sacrificing an SP...but it would definitely be worth it.

I haven't considered it but I'm not mad about front lights since they still aren't great. It depends on how bad the screen is when I get the machine. Also if I get an SP I'd have to buy two because currently I've only the old school GBA and will likely keep the SP :)

Well it's as bad as a GBA, which is pretty dire, verging on unplayable.

There's a picture of the end result screen with the frontlight here. There's colour wash out..but then it's better than not being able to see the picture at all.

    http://nfggames.com/forum2/index.php?topic=2719.0

The only other option would be to somehow fit a backlit LCD. I wonder could an SP 101 backlit LCD transfer over?

I think the screens are different resolutions so might not work.

Oh wow! Not bad at all. If you were on the verge of a complete set and that came up at that price you'd be one happy camper.

I get the impression that not too many people seem to collect games for the NGP.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 53,281 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

Yeah seems that way. Faselei! apparently only has 5000-10000 copies in circulation which puts it in taromaru psychic assassin territory but it goes for no where near the same price.

    'A few bob'. :o

Oddly I actually bought it off a person who lives in my old home town in the UK. Small world. Delighted with it though, the discs and the box and reg card, manual etc are all in 99.9% top condition. There's no scuffs or anything on the discs at all.

In fact because my PS2 is chipped I'm going to make a backup of both the game disc and the DVD disc and use backups instead. I want to keep both these games and the DVD in top nick.

Ah souky. What an amazing shooter.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,328 ✭✭✭Pyongyang

Cex over in the uk won't post to an Irish address normally BUT if you pay by paypal it works so you get free shipping

I took note of this and placed a rather massive order of about 874 squillion PS2 and DS games at the weekend. Excitement, She Wrote! :D

Absolutely. Can't wait to use my Virtua Stick Pro with it. It may not be worth as much as DDP:DOJ in terms of €'s, but it means a lot to me. Hence I'm going to mind it like a child! :)

Was going to buy Do-Don-Pachi Daioujou a few times when it was new but when I tried it on my chipped system I hated the game. If I had bought it I could have been rich :( At least I've an original Souky complete with spine card which is a far superior game imo.

Scumbag! Remember that Metal Slug NGP game I won for a tenner? Just got a cancelation notice from the seller -

Reason for cancel transaction request: Buyer requested shipment to a country I don't ship to

Seller comment: the listing clearly states uk only auction & no contact was made before purchase by the bidder.

First time that's ever happened :(

    Stay away from retro_frix

I've not had that happen before. Usually I just buy the item and discuss postage later. I have had to cancel two items this past week though as no matter what I tried, postage couldn't be added. So the seller cancelled the transaction and we sorted it out directly through Paypal.

Did you try clicking the 'request total from seller' button? That should have allowed him to alter the postage price.

I generally email UK sellers beforehand just in case. They never say no.

Thought I'd take a chance on this one seeing as the game is so small. Ah well, just means I'll have to try and get it cheaper somewhere else :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,328 ✭✭✭Pyongyang

Yep. I always do. I jump through all the right hoopes and 9/10 it works. Just this last week it's been acting up.

For large items I also discuss using www.parcel2go.com as it works out far cheaper than using a direct site (usually). For example, one seller wanted £36 to ship my CIB Super Famicom. I politely pointed the seller to that website and had shipping reduced to £20, insured and tracked.

Is £8.50 for 2 megadrive games boxed too much postage from the UK?

    if its just postage yeah
I've had small items (meg box size) sent recently via RM for about £1.70 , conceivably two boxes might fit but even sent as 2 its only 3.40 , he's adding a fiver on as profit.

Yes. Costs me less than that for 5 PCE/STN titles shipped from Japan.

So many ebayers pad out their prices with postage, especially with some of the surprisingly low BIN prices, the postage is nearly always padded, to trap unsuspecting buyers.
I had a massive row with a US ebayer about the postage on a DVD player, she was looking for very stupid money, so I used her own recorded dimensions of the item as well as the weight and looked it up on the USPS site, at the rate she was posting it at, and I sent her the postage rate.
We eventually reached a compromise and I saved myself about 100 dollars in the process.
Threatening reporting or poor feedback is drastic but often gets someones attention.

Einhander ending in Ireland in 15 minutes. Will probably sell for the minimum bid of €35 if anyone wants it -

Just got my iCade delivered to my desk in work from Firebox(as well as a few non retro things).

Will put it together later this evening and post a few pics for anyone interested.

I think it's going to make a very nice iPad dock for me when I have it modified the way I want and get a few skins made for it.
