Hey Gridlock ... when the fork in the road appeared , I took the FISH route (I prefer his lyricism and vocal style) so I ignored Marillion ... if I wanted to re-examine my decision , any advice on what album I should start with ?

Definitely start with Seasons End Ray, it was Hogarth's first album and was written mainly when Fish was in the band...so theres some continuity in style. Its an excellent album and begins to forge a new direction for the band.
You may take some time to get use to the subtlety and emotion of SH's voice but imo he's a great replacement for the 'big man' and I dare say...on a lyrical par on many tracks.

After that I'd suggest the concept album Brave which is top drawer and many say is their best offering. Marbles is also excellent , I picked up the live C.D for a fiver a while back:D
