Have to agree. The players are whinging if someone moves during an english based tournament but the germans are allowed to shout and boo when someone is throwning for a double.

Nicholson got a rough time of it last night. Taylor seemed to think it was great fun and was dancing on stage.
Imagine the reaction if an opponent did this during the Premier League or the matchplay.

5 replies, not a single 1 in regards to any of the matches(good, bad or indifferent) but 2 replies about the crowd

I enjoyed last night's action. Not happy that with Webster losing(as it beat my bet), but fair play to Jenkins he seemed to be throwing a lot better than at the matchplay. Only upset of the night was Peter Wright beating Part, but based on how they both played at the matchplay I wasnt surprized at the result...although it was pretty grim at times. Fair play to the greek fella against Taylor, didn't look to fased, got along great with the crowd, threw couple 180s and nicked 3 legs...I'm sure nobody really gave him a chance!

I would like to see sky get Chris Mason as commentator before Mardle. Mason has done the ITV tournaments for last few years and I enjoy listening to him. Maybe because he won't lick Taylor's arse is why he won't get the gig, fair play to him for backing up Nicholson over the issue last night and saying it had been blown out of all proportion....typical sky hype machine in full swing.

I'll not get to see tonight's games as Im going to see Tommy Tiernan but heres the matchups for y'all
8.05pm Wayne Jones v Mark Walsh
8.35pm Jelle Klaasen v Dave Chisnall
9.05pm Ronnie Baxter v Michael van Gerwen
9.35pm Kim Huybrechts v Antonio Alcinas
10.05pm James Wade v Magnus Caris
10.35pm Adrian Lewis v Vincent van der Voort
11.05pm Wes Newton v Andy Smith
11.35pm Raymond van Barneveld v Andy Hamilton
(times are local time I presume as think kicks off at 7)

You beat me to it about the Greek fellow, Devasator.

Great debut and he can sure throw darts, His 102 to break was a great shot considering taylor tried Bull, X16 just before him and missed.
I really thooght the GReek lad would go T14 tops with two in hand, but copied Taylor and showed him how to do it!!
Last night will be good experience for him.
Part is really in a slump at the moment. Pity for such a great player. He really needs a good run in a TV comp.

I thought Whitlock was the most impressive on the night - he had an unreal average at one stage without having hit a maximum, checkout stats were back to his best and he held real nerve after his matchplay collapse - Caven is a tricky customer, and the bounceouts were probably as off putting for Whitlock as him!

Taylor disappointed me. I was delighted to see him back on form at the matchplay, but all his talk about respect, the dancing and playing with the crowd, that he did during the premier league as well, shows no respect for his opponents! Ya won't see him at that if he goes up against Anderson or Lewis! Commentators won't get on his back about it yet Nicholson gets crucified over a wave gesture?

The crowd was bad but the Part vs Wright match was possibly one of the worst I've seen. People are quick to slag of the BDO, but this was terrible.
I would love to know what the averages were especially the 9th leg when they both ended up on madhouse. Only Wright managed to hold his throw as Part crumbled probably at the sight of Wright.
He was wrong on every level bleached spikey hair with a green stain on the side of it, Red Dragon (his stable) on the front of his shirt some sort of cobra on the back, Scottish darts and a cockney accent, talk about an identity crisis!
Whoever he is playing in round 2 back the other guy!

Whitlock destroys Llyod 10-2. He's angry with himself and I think Lloyd and Suljjovic are feeling the backlash of it. Next game should be a cracker. Think Whitlock/ Wade could win this

I only returned from holidays Saturday and didn't get much of a chance to see any of this tournament. I saw the end of the final last night with Taylor winning 11-8 against Lewis.

I see Belgian player Kim Huybrechts had a good tournament reaching the quarter finals. A very good player who was very unlucky not to qualify for the BDO Lakeside World Championship earlier this year but I suspect we'll see him in Ally Pally in December.

Good to see darts again on ITV4 and hopefully they might screen 1 or 2 more tournaments in the near future.

No they smiled and joked afterwards, just the usual Sky hyperbole. A lot of respect in the interviews too afterwards.
