Pinto is a cowboy, he is liable to try anything in goal!

Abidal is a such a legend.

Good few rumours circulating that we (Spurs) are in for Affelay. Any possibility of this actually happening?

Seems like he has been linked with a move ever since he arrived.

If Cesc returns added to the fact Alexis has been signed then I wouldnt be surprised to see him leave.

Most memorable moment was setting up Messi against Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Bit of a greedy player at times in my opinion - still needs to learn to Barça way.

I cant see it myself. Only 7 months at Barcelona, kept Bojan on the bench for the CL Semis and Final. He's working hard in preseason, and he'll definitely be needed for squad rotation mid-season

Just to clarify what I mean by greedy:

Not in the traditional sense but when you compare him to the typical Barça player he is.

i.e. just shoot because you are within sight of goal - which 9/10 never results in a goal anyway.

He is slowing adapting though - less of that since he first arrived.

Can anyone confirm what time the match is on at this evening? What time coverage starts at, and when kick off is.

First match in a long time i've been able to watch on the tv :)

As for Affelay, I personally would be gutted if he left, he has should glimpses of sheer brilliance, he has pace, power and control in one. How ever, as redout said he is a little greedy in the sense he is not afraid to have a pop. But then again I think we need that at time's. Especially when we have brilliant instinctive poachers in Villa, Messi, Pedro and now Sanczhez!

Again I have to agree with an above post, Miralize hit the nail on the head. Squad rotation will be key to a good season next year. We seen how it can get tough for the same starting 11/13 players around the January-March period. An this season will be no exception with such a packed fixture list (club world cup, etc). Players like Affelay, Sanchez, Thiago and Masch have a task this season. To fill the boot's of the absent player, and in a way bring their own individual qualities to the field when ever called upon.

I for one have a feeling this season will be even better for Barca, not only will we have one of the best starting 11's of recent time's, but with talent like Thiago, Dos Santos, Affelay and Co. this Barca team has a chance to cement it's self as one of the best teams EVER.

Agreed. Definitely the best team (and comfortably) I've ever seen, and I think the 3 CL titles in 6 seasons reflects that.

In terms of the amount of titles won there has been more successful sides.

Ajax - Total football of the 70s is the closest in my opinion.

Michels and Cruyff brought that with them from Ajax to Barça.

Cruyff had the 'Dream Team' at the beginning the 90s - but Pep has bettered it.

    Barça lineup:
Valdes, Dos Santos, Fontàs, Sergio B, Maxwell; Keita, Thiago, Iniesta; Pedro, Soriano, Villa

Michels never coached at Barca did he?

Agree with all that but we are in a comletely differnent era to those days. So many teams had periods of sustained dominance, not due to their excellence, rather the absence of other great teams. Madrid, Ajax and Bayern all won 3 in a row (or 5 in Madrid's case) and teams like Liverpool, Inter and Benfica won a few in a short space also. I think the only club side that can rival Barca of today (in terms of success - I'm far too young to have seen that Ajax team) is the Milan side of early 90's.

That was a fine finish from Thiago. Thought he was gonna get battered going up for it.

Thiago has a nice knack of getting headed goals.

Re sustained CL dominance in recent times, lets not forget the dictatorship won it 3 times in 5 seasons not so long ago.

Nice run out this game. The camera angles are wrecking my head though. Fontas looking rather assured when asked.
