Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    When will constrction on tralee bypass start?

    Within a week or two I'd expect. It shouldn't cause much disruption, bar the construction of a few roundabouts. Maybe some minor disruption on local roads. As for a completion date...no idea but before the deadline would definitely be expected.

    one of the companys involved cannot cannot start for a few weeks due to the fact that where they are due to start is a swap at the moment and requires a few weeks of dry weather.

    it is a subby i cannot say any more, yesterday some guys were getting their safe pass tickets on machines, the guys on the dole had theirs paid for, but the unemployed guys who were not entitled to the dole due to having partners who are earning 400 per week had to pay their own way.

    Firstly, welcome to the Roads Forum.

    As with all message boards, you should not repeat the same post multiple times. When you ask a question, you need only ask it once. Wait a few days for someone to answer it. If after a few days no one has answered your question, feel free to ask it again.

    Setting up the site office is not as simple as plonking down a port-a-cabin. There will be several individual offices needed for contractors management staff, engineers, meeting rooms as well as offices for the REs. There are also minimum standards for welfare facilities that have to be provided; toilets (both male and female), washrooms (including showers), canteens, etc. These facilities will have to be in place before any real work can start.

    All this will require services such as electricity connection (probably will have to set up a genny initially because it will take months for the ESB to connect them to the mains). They will also require running water, sewerage and broadband connections. They will most likely have an alarm system set up in the site offices with CCTV cameras.

    They will also have to set up a secure area for storage of tools, plant, etc. before anything expensive can be brought to site. Fuel storage areas will require bunded tanks. The entire compound will have to be stoned and leveled and surrounded by palisade fencing. All these things take time.

    A lot of those facilets are in place allready. work on tralee bypas will start within a week or 2

    Back on topic, how on earth did this trump Galway, Adare AND ClareGalway.

    Who (other than Tralee residents) needs to bypass Tralee. Who? Where? Healy Raes are just crooks. Jesus at least get a decent overall N21 which would serve the towns of T, K and L much better.

    It's mysterious no doubt. The doing of this will probably be used as an excuse to not do Adare to Abbeyfeale...so it could set things back rather than move them forward.
