My exact thoughts, but to be honest Ghost is irreplaceable, but that being said Sandman looks pretty kick ass. :D

Ghost was rubbish, they should simply have brought back Gaz.

    Ah come on now.
The whole TF141 thing was ridiculous and lame.

They should have just left as Marines and SAS.

trying to make sense of MW2s plot is kinda pointless, you're just along for the ride :pac:

I'm not disagreeing with you. But as Krudler more or less said, there's little point trying to make any sense of i (took me awhile to not bother about it admittedly). Kinda like when you go into a Michael Bay movie, turn off the brain and enjoy explosions :pac:

and yet so much of the MW2 storyline is great. some of the cutscenes are brilliant like (I dunno why I'm evern spoilering this its been out so long but anyway)
the initial Russian invasion of America "I can see fighter jets over I-95!!", Price launching the nuke "Price the silo doors are opening!" "...good" and the killing of Roach and Ghost and the battle in the aircraft graveyard between TF141, Shepherds men and the Russians, all class.
Its just there are a lot of plotholes
why did Shephard bother sending TF141 to Rio in search of an arms dealer supplying Russians killing Russians, there enough guns in Russia for everyone, why bother importing shells from the other side of the world?

He sent them to rio to get the info about price, Shepard would have used price to lure makarov and thus kill him, but price f*cked up all those plans and thus TF141 went with him and shepard tried to kill him, Shepard wanted to cut Makarov off as a loose end so he could never get founded out to be the one who hired makarov in the first place to start WW3 just to prove America was superior to everyone else.
    Your aul lady's got worms

I have to disagree with both you and Krudler.
Call of Duty, and especially MW1, have always had solid plots and were never style over substance.
So why should we accept it for one game!?

Couldnt agree more, cant see as to why every kid practically jizzed themselves over ghost? What exactly did he do in mw2 that was so cool? At least gaz was a decent enough charecter in the sense that he played the roll of though second in command to price. Ghost just fannied about in a ridiculous skull mask? Wtf is that? Looks like a reject from army of two.

That doesnt make any sense? So if I think Ed Norton is a good actor is say American history X then by your logic plays the same role in every movie??? They are different characters , the actors are the same.

While the basics of the characters are similar at least gaz had some nice humorous moments, he provided a harsh edge in contrast to Price who was a leader figure too focused on the objective to not allow for a sense of humor, Gaz provided some grounding in the story line what with actually looking like an SAS operator rather than some jumped up army of two clone.

Ghost was not memorable aside from a frickin balaclava. TBH the writers prob knew this from the start, looks wise all the main players have distinctive styles - Soap with the mohok was obviously modeled after Kelly from Tears of the sun (Excellent movie btw, would def advised you see it if you can) http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1678940160/ch0012322, Price stood out for his tash (clearly designed to signify his age and experience) and General shepard was distinct for his acu uniform with berret / grey hair / gravely voice again to signify something sinister.

With all the main players being identifiable they realized that ghost had nothing much to do or say for himself so really had to go OTT to compensate hence the ****ty mask. Couldnt care less if he came back for mw3 tbh I would however like to see what price, soap and shepard do.

yeah but common sense, have modernwarfare3.com just link to the main callofduty.com site, not battlefield 3's site :pac:

    well played EA, well played

Seen hutch tweet this yesterday... ****ing hilarious !!!! Some balls from EA tbh...

EDIT, apparently it had nothing to do with EA, but some BF fans :D Still pretty funny.

TBH its not an uncommon practice, its called domain prospecting. Basically you think of what could be used as a URL for a brand and register it before them. It cost you a small outlay to register it but hopefully in a few years someone big will want it and offer cash for it off you. Simple premise and can work out well but most companies think years in advance, its why nearly every major project has development code names like natal / kinect etc and why you see people checking whos registering what. Nintendo do this quite a bit where they register large groups of possible titles or hardware years in advance. Activision really dropped the ball on this one, surely they knew a third was coming after 2?

Pretty petty stuff though. If it was done by fans I really wouldnt be suprised, BF fan boys seem to have a hate of COD like no other. Its pretty stupid tbh, nothing like a small group of fanboys to put off perspective new fans and actually hurt the franchise they want to overthrow COD.

Who said it was EA? If it was them, that could cause a shít storm!

It could have been anyone who registered and re-directed that!

Any links to where you heard that?

I found it funny when I saw this on Twitter a couple of days back. It's even funnier that you and other COD fanboys get annoyed by this stuff too :D Petty sure, but equally if not more funny tbh.

Nothing to do with EA, it was done by a CoD fan (or I guess anti-fan) ranting about the series and originally held an altered copy of the official CoD page. The redirect to the BF site was only a recent thing after his host deleted his anti CoD page.

You also missed the MW4 page:

Ahhhhh I wouldnt say I'm annoyed by it, wont really effect me in anyway at all. I am slightly annoyed at the elitism BF players on PC seem to have aimed at consle players but even thats not franchise related just more of the PC crowds eternal need to feel like they are better than others? Ether way CODs domain names have no real effect on my enjoyment of a game so would be hard to get annoyed over it tbh.
