How can I map a network drive using a different user?

    Hi I'm currently running windows 7. I have a linux NAS (freenas) running some samba shares. I have a user with the same username and password on the linux NAS and on windows 7. This means that when I map a drive it automatically uses my logged in username and password.

    Anyway when I try to map a drive using a different username (with more permissions) I get an error saying
    The Network folder specified is currently mapped using a different username and password.
To connect using a different username and password, please first disconnect any existing mappings to this network share.

    I have already disconnected the particular share but still get the error. Any way to disconnect a mapped drive and then reconnect as a different user?

    How about disconnecting and unmapping the drive, then resetting it back again.
    Or you could change the share name and connect to the new name

    try connecting by IP address / name / alias ( you should be able to add alias in hosts file)
